Return to Metas, Mechs and Mages (Accepting, Not Started)

Creator: crossroads
Roleplay: Metas, Mechs and Mages (Accepting, Not Started)
Nickname: Rose

Age: 23

Appearance: Tall, slender, with a bush of blonde hair and grey eyes behind square glasses. He always wears dark labcoat, usually with black shirts and trousers underneath. Around his neck, he has a thin knitted necklace - and a matching bracelet on his right wrist.

Source of Power: Mechanical/Magic

Class: Alpha Mech, Beta Mage

Personality: He's mostly calm, observing and adding sarcastic comments out of the blue. He doesn't care if people are polite, nor does he try to be particularly polite towards anyone - though at the same time, he tends to be quite a charming gentleman when it suits him. He doesn't make many friends, but is very loyal and caring towards the ones he has - even though he won't show it, except by maybe teasing people he likes a bit more than people he dislikes. He's used to people not getting things he says, hence he restrains from talking to people at all, unless necessary. He's bad at small talk, and tends to just turn around and walk away if the conversation starts getting him bored - same if he thinks of some brilliant new idea all of the sudden, though then he might stay a bit longer and write it on his palm or so. He always carries a pen for the purpose. He won't really get mad if someone underestimates his abilities, but he might get fairly vengeful.

Abilities: He can make literally anything his mind comes up with. He specializes in dealing with tiny pieces, particularly clockwork, and enjoys creating complex mechanisms which border with being alive. That, however, is a passion of his. More often than not, he's there to say everything is possible and create a bunch of new gadgets to assist whomever is in need.
As far as magic goes, he never truly focused on using his potential, hence he's more often than not seeming weaker than he is. He can use runes (drawn in the air with a move of his fingers) to conjure objects or change their shapes. He can also use some healing runes.

Weaknesses: When he heals another person, their injuries get reflected on his body instead. His powers of conjuring/shifting things tends to be unpredictable, often leaving him with a random object instead of the desired one.
He can be seriously hurt and killed by electricity, and he has a petrifying fear of small places and restraints of any kind.

History: He was born to a family of scientists, living with his sisters and parents until he turned nine. That is when their home was attacked, and both of his little sisters died. He was severely injured himself, and his parents, desperate not to lose their only child, did an operation some might consider illegal - they fixed his ribs, parts of lungs, heart and neck, as well as most of his left arm, by placing mechanical pieces in place of bones, muscles and flesh.
He didn't know of it, until his father died two years later. At that time, his mother also became desperate about the loss, and he became obsessed with the idea of creating mechanical devices which would appear human, wanting to bring back his sisters and make mum happy. He failed to do it before his mother's death, but it got him to college at the age of thirteen, and to a position of a professor on the same university at seventeen. A year later, one of his experiments (a tiger which was more than close enough to the real animal to creep people out) broke free, and his feeds were declared too dangerous to be kept around students. For a few months, he disappeared from the face of the earth, and ended up creating two identical mechanical creatures resembling little girls, with big blue eyes and fiery red hair. Followed by them, he contacted HSL , quickly getting a position there. So far, everyone's tolerated all of his ideas and hobbies, and he's been providing them with every piece if technology they needed.

Other: About those implements. They resemble clockwork as well, and, due to Rose's mother's magical gift, they grow along with the rest of his body. That is something most people don't know about, never visible, noticeable only if one listens to his heart and figures its rhythm is somewhat off. Rose isn't talking about it, and he isn't really proud of it - he knows it connects him to his work, but also that he'll never quite be the same as people around him. He would only really talk about it if someone he cares about gets him to take off his shirt and then ask about long thin scar going down his ribs. He won't really feel pain in that side of his body - on the other hand, as much as touching a shocker toy with his left hand can kill him in seconds.

Who knew paper and ink could be so vicious.
