I don't want to sound whiny, or nagging or anything, but I really want to get it off my chest.
I've been around different platforms for writing and reading and I just can't believe how toxic the experience was.
I don't know who'll read this, but YWS was the only place where everyone's ACTUALLY supportive and welcoming; where people actually talk about writing and help each other improve.

Hey @DavidFoxx! Welcome to YWS! I'm Lucy, but you can call me LZ, Piano, Looseleaf, Loopy, Lucy Goosy, etc. I have a lot of nicknames, curtesy of my classmates. I joined in November of 2019 and I have been active on this website (at least once a day) since! I hope you enjoy this site like I do and come to know its many wonders.

(Oh, and by the way, if you wanted to know how to do the quote boxes, it's a little bit of code. It's essentially you make this: [ quote][/quote] but with the brackets all the way closed, and then you put what you want to put in the quote bubble in between the two bracketed "quotes."

Does that even make a little bit of sense? If it does, then I have succeeded. )

Before you get settled in, you might want to swing by the rules thread to see what's allowed on the site, and the FAQ thread to figure out how the site works. It explains a lot about the basics of the site, like how to post your works and how to get points. It was really useful to me back when I first joined the site, so hopefully it'll be just as useful for you.

Some fun areas of the site you might want to learn more about are the forums, blogs and storybook section. The forums have fun games, writing activities, and places to talk about whatever writing project you're working on. The blogs aren't used as much as the other sections of the site, but you can post little life updates there. And the storybook section is a place to collaborate on stories - either by co-writing novel-style stories, or by taking part in roleplays.
