Just a thankful rant to this website: I have a thing against anything being in my bookmark bar because I just do. However, YWS is and has been there for years, even if I didn't have time to click on it. This website gave me the confidence to share the stories in my head and to always strive to be a better writer. The past few months have been some of the most hectic of my life between finishing my degree, getting married, and moving countries. However, with all that over, and some encouragement from my amazing husband I finally have time to write again. Without YWS I probably would have stopped writing stories years ago. So thanks to everyone here for all the support and critiques.

Some hate for Junk Mail
I took my puppy for a walk to my mailbox because yes I live in the middle of nowhere so the mailbox is a nice walk away. Upon arriving at the mailbox I normally pick out the couple important things and let my puppy carry the junk mail home. However when I pulled the mail out a piece of card stock sliced down my pinky (an entire inch). Of course, I couldn't let my puppy carry the now bloody mail. So thank you very much, random political candidate, your mail not only tried to murder my pinky but also made a little puppy sad. Furthermore, now I can't type at full speed as said pinky can no longer properly do its job and I just got over my writer's block

I've realized I can't remember the last time I wrote purely for myself. Between school, college apps, theatre, and the general chaos that is life I've been lucky to get to relax at all. But I do have about 7 million half-forgotten stories and there's no better time than now to give them a glimpse of daylight.

Recently the majority of my writing hasn't been very lighthearted. Maybe it's a reaction to life or maybe its just a type of writing a find easier. (The more drama the easier it is to make the story continue.)
But a break is always welcome and I finally have written something a little nicer (that is also decent enough to share with the real world).

So, if anyone wants to read about an early morning coffee shop visit with a couple doses of ranting, social anxiety, and questionable fashion enjoy!

Anyone who enjoys theatre will probably get a kick out of this.
At my school, our theatre program is simply put amazing! We have a winning improv team (best in three states) and for as long as our theatre teacher has taught, a senior has either won or been runner up to winning scholarships for being best in the state.
But... our school hasn't always realized this. Our funding is bad to non-existent and support from administration and teachers depends from day to day on their mood.
This week we are performing our spring musical that we have been working on for months (much like training for sports) and Tuesday we missed classes to put on a free show for the middle schoolers in the area. Teachers, like always, complained about us missing. The same teachers who have happily encouraged students involved in the sports when they miss class for games.
Then yesterday we got a lot of snow, and school was canceled then and today. But what is still going on? Our show. After gaining special permission from all over we will still be going out and performing tonight.
I love sports just as I love theatre but this is one of the times I see how much harder people involved in theatre have to work and are willing to work to perform.
Here's to hoping all goes well after our show has been cursed by the Scottish play. Thanks, Shakespeare.
averyismediocre That really sucks! I get it though. I'm also a theatre kid and I go through it too. I have to ask though: What musical are you doing?
