By the way, 'flaki' is a popular Polish soul made from cow's stomach. It's really good, and it looks and tastes like chicken soup.

Is there anyone on YWS who can speak Polish? My reason for asking is that I am sort-of, kind of fluent in that language, but it's still very rough on edges. I would like someone, a tutor, to help me polish my Polish (no pun intended).

    Dziękuję! (thank you)

ChocolateCello @SilverBerry speaks fluently but I'm not sure on her spelling skills

SilverBerry Yeah I can't spell because when I learned I learned to speak and read, but I do speak polish. :)

  • Hi, everyone!!! Sorry for not being here a while. Just have been busy with many, many things.

    Happy Easter, by the way!!!!!

  • Heya Fanta! Whats up?!

fantasydragon01 Hey. I'm doing good. Nothing much. Just started school and having a blast. I just recently made a book review here on North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. It's a really good book. I highly recommend it.
    How are you doing?

Eros I am fine. Making a novel based on my love with Mohit, about how I fell in love with him, how I saw God in him, and finally how he changed me, transformed me within two years... published four chapters... Trying to edit and improve it... Hey will you suggest me something to improve them?
NOVEL : Mohit--The Person Who Changed Me * Chapter 1*

  • OK, OK, I am probably exaggerating.

steampowered Heh heh, I was homeschooled for a while, but I would never have made such a glaringly obvious grammatical error as this person did.
Friends vs correct grammar. No contest. I'm going with the correct grammar. :P

So, I am someone who has a passion for writing. The passion is more passionate than passion fruit ( sorry for the bad joke ;)). I am new to writing (sort of. I've done it for about 2 years). And I think that I should stick with it. However, I am wondering if there is any good book about how to write (writing in general, books, poetry etc...) Does anyone have any recommendations?
Also, terrible news has befallen me. I have a writers block, and sometimes, I just can't write certain stuff. If I do, the writing looks.....well....awful. How do I get rid of this block and write freely and smoothly as.....what's the word.....a bird......sort of....maybe?

On a side note, if I made any grammatical mistakes, it may be the writers block's fault.

ChocolateCello I don't have any books about writing to suggest but...
I constantly have writers block and here are a few suggestions I have

-Online plot generators (Usually these give pretty crappy plot lines but sometimes they inspire something good.)
-Ask friends for writing prompts (This is what I usually do, but I have a lot of friends who write.)
-Look up 'writing prompts' and go under the 'images' tab (I don't do this often but I'm never disappointed when I do, although it usually takes time to find the right picture to use.)
-Look up other types of generators, (character generator, setting generator, etc.) and base a story about the created character or place. (I haven't actually done this one but I know character generators are pretty fun)

The simple truth is that authors like making people squirm. If this weren't the case, all novels would be filled completely with cute bunnies having birthday parties.
