  • Prepping for Camp Nano in April. Does anyone have a good character development template they use? I am looking for something that is super detailed.

  • Does anyone know of a good place to post looking for a freelance job for proofreading and editing online?

  • Slowly starting to come back to YWS. A lot of things have happened since I was away. Now I'm able to put some time into reviewing like I used too! Maybe even write in the Squills Newsletter again, we will see! Come and say hi!

  • Anyone know a good way to get inspiration for pieces?

Mageheart I have three suggestions, but none of them are guaranteed to work out right away, or even at all! It's just what usually works for me.

My first suggestion is to experience. Just pay attention to things going on in the world around you; I saw someone collecting branches while I was Christmas tree shopping and I got inspiration for writing a short story.

My second suggestion is to watch. Watching TV shows or movies is another great way to inspire you! They might give you ideas for a short story or novel, or make you feel enough emotion to write poetry.

My third suggestion is similar to my second: read! Reading books and poetry can give you lots of ideas, and if you happen to read something similar to the writing project you've lost inspiration for, usually that will help you get the desire to write it!

    I hope that helped! ^_^

occymay I find daydreaming helps me so much. Maybe finding a particular topic you would like to write about, put on some music that is related and just let your mind run wild. That's how I normally come up with my ideas, the more I think about it, the more I want to write about it.

Also just thinking about certain words. I came up with a new idea a couple of days ago just by thinking of the emerald dream raid from WOW and final fantasy 15 at the same time. Maybe find words from the genre you like, just sit and think about them, put them on post-it notes around your room, brainstorm them, whatever you can think of.

    I hope this helped :)
