  • Thanks for replying to my poem "slow down". And thank you for the compliments. Just one thing: don't say that your poetry is left wanting, because you have a gorgeous style of your own! And as for the inspiration thing, it's about adults who think they can help with your problems but really aren't any wiser than you are, because we're all struggling to understand the romantic and the spiritual aspects of our lives

Hey! I have a question for you. I know your busy but mind helping me with reviewing my work?

UrbanNomad Sure, just tell me what you need

The backwoods aye? Yeah I guess I did technically speak to him (although I must admit it was childish babble from a very starstruck fan). I was much younger and my dad who is also a fan of the Chili Peppers got John to sign an original record of his from the early 90s when Mr Frusciante was really damaged by the drugs etc.

Payne Haha, well, I don't blame you a bit. I can see how he would have that effect...
Ah, yeah, the rough years...that must be a pretty treasured record, though.

  • Hey there. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your profile picture? That's some excellent artwork; I immediately recognized it as John (that's actually one of the main reasons why I came to your profile in the first place).

UrbanNomad Hi, you can find it at http://aubreeze.blogspot.com/2011/05/jo ... iante.html
This painting always caught my eye as being incredibly beautiful, the colours etc.
Do you listen to John's solo records much?

    Nov 12, 2011

    Payne Ah, thank you...
I listened to part of an album a few months ago (I'm almost positive it was Curtains), but I'm on dial-up internet, which makes it rather difficult to listen to music. I'd like to listen to them more often, though.
I'm guessing you do listen to them?

  • Wow. Thanks, UrbanNomad! It means a lot to me. xD

And when I say, "Freedom or Death", I wasn't quoting el Che, no. xD I am Puerto Rican, and there have been a couple of strikes during the year and they go singing things like "Libres o Muertos!" around.

    Do you speak Spanish?

UrbanNomad Un poco-I have been learning Spanish so that I can study volcanoes in Chile in 2014

GeeLyria Oh, wow! That's sounds interestingly amazing. Well, you can always ask me anything, okay? :) Spanish is my native language. (=

  • Thank you so much for the comment! I am always up at night. That was one of my very first attempts at a poem because I was too tired to sleep and too tired to write a poem. Ironic, right?

  • Hi, Urban Nomad!
We've never met, but I saw you somewhere on the site and I loved your username! :D
    Mac

UrbanNomad Haha that's pretty awesome. I actually came up with the name through one of my poems "Reflections of a Nomad". Have a read of my works (there are 3 poems in my portfolio-I would love to know what you think!)
    Cheers, Nomad

A long time in the works-my latest effort "The New Congregation". We all want spirituality and New Zealand society has two paths by which to find it. There is that of the old congregation, theism, and that of the new congregation practicing the ritual of alcoholic escapism.
