As I mentioned in the last post, I will have a debate competition in the next week. Now we had practice today, I honestly feel like a complete idiot having no knowledge of outside world and all. I was really hoping(and even hoping now) that I would just somehow be replaced but as it comes nearer and nearer, I am getting more and more frustrated.
This is an open call to anyone(including debate freaks, people having general knowledge and everyone who id interested to help) that if anyone is willing to help me in preparing for it, I really really require your help. Please reply or message me, if you want to help.
The topics will be provided, hopefully within 2 days and I will be able to inform you all about the topic. As YWS has always helped me in my past, I have turned to YWS to seek your help, people.
DreamyAlice Hey forever I know I am in a junior standard but I can help you with this, I have always loved debate competitions or speech competitions. And as we live in the same country I think I could help you better if the topics are related. Just when you get the topics, share them with me. I can help you plan the way you could practice for this and will share any material I get related for you to read. ^-^

Well, just a bit of an update on what's going on in my life... At the moment, I am having to do everything that I don't like and I am so mentally broken that I don't even get time to do things I like. We had our last exam a few months ago and it still feels like yesterday. I honestly want a break from all these but no one is going to give me that.
On other news, I have gotta prepare for a debate competition and I absolutely have no idea about what is going to happen there because I feel terribly unprepared and I can visualise a few genius people sitting in front of me. We haven't got the topics yet nor do we have the slightest idea about thr format. Moreover I have public anxiety and arghhhhhh I just feel like getting hold of a blanket, going inside a cave and taking a break from this life.
DreamyAlice Ahh forever, that is totally understandable. I hope you could get some rest after all this hecticness and I also hope you have a great time in the debate competition, have fun don't overthink! I am sure most of them there must be as nervous as you, don't worry too much<333

Alright Reviewers, legend has it that when the Green Room is completely cleared, a Golden Goose can be found - it's been many moons since our own Green Room has been cleared out, and it is time once more for us to find that rare Golden Goose! Huzzah!
The moderator team is issuing a Special Summer Challenge with prizes, teams, and adventure! Join us on our quest to Clear the Green Room and read about the special challenges here! If we are successful in clearing the Green Room and finding the Golden Goose by the end of the summer (Aug 1) it will unlock a Social Week Celebration and Free Literary Work postings forlife3 days!
All the fun starts June 1 - but we can get a start clearing the Green Room even in our May Review Day.Let's find that goose!

It's time for our 2nd Gen Lit Clinic!
To anyone who isn't familiar with it, Gen Lit Clinic is an open pad discussion where everyone brings a question or two related to the topic and everybody pitches in and tries to find answers to each other's problems! This month's topic is 'Symbols'.
Symbols are words, images, people, locations, objects, etc. that represent an abstract idea, i.e. something that goes beyond the literal meaning of what is being presented. Symbols can be recurring, general or specific to your story. They are an exciting and innovative way to add depth and richness to your stories as they allow the readers to introspect and attach their own meaning to a seemingly insignificant object or idea.
If you want to incorporate symbols in your story or are confused about intended and unintended symbols, how to identify them or make them work in the long term, this discussion might just help you!
Gen Lit Clinic will take place on:
The pad link will be posted in the People's Tab, so keep an eye out for that!
