Welcome to Rousseau's Academy for Vampire Hunters.

History/setting: In a modern day city, in a renovated old monastery, is Rousseau's Academy for Vampire Hunters. Children from all over the country come to the Academy to learn how to hunt the supernatural. From 13 onwards they train with weapons, magic and other things-including claws and fangs.

During the day they study hard, train and enjoy the city--it's during the night that they go out seeking the supernatural, practicing the skills they learn by day.

You are one of these children attending the Academy. Like all things, there are good and bad. Conflict has been escalating between the Academy and Declan's coven. Will you join Kassia and her friends in the Academy ?

Name: Declan van Alstyne (Human name during the 1400s, and technically still his legal name. His original name is Aristodemus, but no one knows that.)

Age (13-25, older for vampires): 2,019 years. Physically? 15 going on 16.

Declan may not be the bulkiest guy out there (he's actually pretty lean) but years of being a vampire has given him preternatural speed, even when you take into account his being a vampire. He's so quick he actually seems to teleport from one place to another. As a human, he was pretty quick and would always win games of tag. As a vampire, you simply can't catch him anymore. His eyesight is also unbelievably sharp, allowing for perfect aim, even in absolute darkness.

These skills, combined, make Declan the human personification of a blitzkreig. Quick, precise attacks at the enemy's weak points leave his opponent dead within the first minute of the fight. This has allowed him to retain his position as the coven's leader even though bigger (and rarely, older), vampires have come and challenged his position.

He is, however, very frail and tires out quickly. He's not exactly the strongest of vampires either, and although he's on par with average humans, still doesn't like to exert himself that way.

Other:

Declan is skilled in both telepathy and telekinesis. Can read people's thoughts and intentions towards him. His telekinesis has gotten to the point where he could stop someone else's heart if he wanted to.

Personality:

Behind Declan's young appearance lies years of accumulated wisdom and craftiness. He's the guy with a contented look on his face and a calm aura about him. He's generally easy-going and tends to spend a lot of time with his "children" (although he doesn't truly like calling them that, he does nickname them). His humor is often dark and cynical, but he hardly ever worries about anything because he's seen a lot and can generally foresee the effects of most courses of actions. He does, however, keep in mind he hasn't seen everything yet and is willing to listen to others' opinions. He's rarely curious thanks to the sheer amount of things he's seen, but when he is he reverts to a child-like persona who's eager to learn everything.

Declan will never allow anything to hurt his coven, and anyone who does will be punished severely. He's vindictive when wronged. However, he's not the type to rush into a battle. He waits for the perfect moment and strikes with quick precision. He doesn't like being angry, as he says it eats him up on the inside, so he tends to warn people when they're about to cross the line.

Most of the time Declan is quiet and even speaks in a clipped voice. Doesn't speak unless he absolutely needs to. Also very secretive - he operates on a need-to-know basis, and in his opinion, no one needs to know anything.

Declan is a generous person by heart. He allows his children to leave the coven as they please and even entertains them when they come back to ask for favors.

He is, however, very picky as to who he grants eternal life to. He encourages his children to think carefully about it as well, but does not restrict them from sharing their gift.

Appearance: Declan looks 15 and has never lost the vibrancy of his youth. He used to be pale-skinned, but as of recent he's discovered that he can go into the sun for as long as an hour before getting severe sunburns. These days he can pass for a fair-skinned human, except for his eyes. His eyes will forever remain an inhuman candy-apple red, but their color isn't the only thing disturbing about them. It's the weary wisdom and depth in them that often intimidate people.



Likes:

Declan enjoys running and playing such games, but since he often wins he's gotten bored. He only wishes to play against the quickest of his children, and only when they want to. He's not prone to forcing people. Declan enjoys horseback riding and other sports which don't rely heavily on strength. (Fencing, cycling, archery, etc.) He loves mammals and keeps two rottweilers (technically hell hounds now, since they've turned into vampires after a mishap with one of Declan's children - they were executed after almost murdering the dogs) in his coven. Declan also enjoys reading.

Also, he loves his sleep very, very much. Anyone who disturbs him for a bad reason will be better off hiding in hell.

Dislikes:

Declan hates insects. He will thwap any one that comes near him. He's also allergic to flowers, particularly sunflowers and daisies. Dislikes documentaries and history books, because he insists they're factually erroneous and tinted with bias. Is terrified of going into large bodies of water and always, always takes a shower, refusing to use even a tub, thanks to an experience when he was younger.

History: Aristodemus was born in Rome, little over a decade before Christ was crucified. His mother was the Greek concubine of a powerful Roman senator who had no wife. The senator took Aristodemus in as his own and gave him a good education, wanting Aristodemus to grow up to be a senator as well. Shortly before Christ was crucified, Aristodemus left his home for compulsory military training, but he and his escorts were blindsided by bandits before they ever got to the military camp.

Left for dead and bleeding copiously, Aristodemus attracted a savage vampire who turned him in hopes for a companion. She disgusted Aristodemus to no end, and the fledgling fled as soon as he recovered from his injuries. He wandered alone for a few years, then joined a mid-sized coven. The coven grew, and the leader aged until one day, angered by an injustice, a faction of the coven revolted. Aristodemus was well-aware of the leader's injustice and took care to steer clear of the mess. The new leader proved just as terrible as the last, and was swiftly assassinated. Tired once more of the senseless violence, Aristodemus left.

He eventually sired another vampire (currently deceased - threw himself into the sun in the early 800s) and eventually, attracted a small group of friends. Later on the coven grew and his friends contested his leadership, but he'd already proven himself an able leader by then, and was able to garner enough support to overthrow the elders attempting to depose him.

After the middle ages he resurfaced in the world, introducing himself as the son of one of his vampire children. Up to this day, he passes himself off as one of his vampire children's sons in the human world, though he is the one managing the affairs of his "father".

He remains faithful to his Roman fiancee even after more than 2000 years, and watches over her descendants (not his) faithfully. Currently he's a good friend of her scion's latest generation.

Other: He's studied to be a doctor and is actually a practicing one, but under a different name. xD Also owns numerous properties under his name.

Skills: Vampire hunting, is fast, strong, basically one of the most developed students for her age. Can take on students up to seventeen years old.

Magical or Non-magical: Non-magical

Personality: Sweet, but has a maniacal streak. Is very smart and can be bossy sometimes.

Appearance: there's a pictue on here somewhere....

Likes/Dislikes: She doesn't dislike anything, not even vampires. She does hate pie, but that's it. She always rambles about it. She likes everything else basically.

History: Was abandoned at four. A seventeen year old girl from the academy found her and realized her extraordinary abilites. She was then adopted by the academy.

Personality: He sometimes stare at people whom he doesn't know well, leaving them to feel awkward; one of his favorite hobby when he gets bored. Pranking too is his usual pastime and you can see him as a cheerful person and optimistic person, though he rarely take things seriously. Also, he's mature at making and following directions.

History: His mother died after giving birth to him while his father's the only one taking good care of him. He only knew that his father' and mother are descent vampires after seeing his dad ate his pet dog.

Personality: Kassia is kind and caring but she's got this 'tough girl' attitude that sometimes gets her into trouble. Often a bit of a flirter and a tease, Kassia likes to have fun any way she can.

Appearance: Tall, about 5"6 with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Often seen wearing jeans, a black t-shirt and a black leather jacket.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes laughing, having fun, the Academy, blood, weapons and conquering evil. Dislikes small spaces, 'bloodsuckers', the full moon and locked doors.

History: Seventeen years ago, Kassia's mother was in love with a vampire and she disappeared. For years, no one had heard anything about her until four years ago, when a 13-year-old Kassia found her way into the Academy. She was suffering from blood lust-a horrid yearning for human blood.

Four years later, and she can control it--just--and is in her last years of training. Kassia often goes out hunting and has had several close encounters with Declan, Adrian and Isidor. (They actually left her locked in a cupboard when she was fifteen).

Skills: Combat, she's really good at climbing things, she can cook really good, she sings really good too.

Personality: She keeps to herself, and doesn't talk much. She NEVER gives her real name to someone she doesn't trust. Everyone who really knows her calls her Davine (Her middle name.) She has a mental connection to her wolf, and if she tells her to do something, the wolf will obey (Not talking back) and they can feel each other's emotions when they change.

Appearance:

Likes/Dislikes: She likes being alone, she likes the darkness (Hence the name Shadow) she loves it when it rains, she hates the sun, even though she's human. She hates being around people who talk too much, she never gets embarrassed. She likes going hunting, and she loves not being sure what she'll kill--animal or beast (Vampire) She doesn't like harming werewolves because she has a wolf of her own.

History: She was raised in an orphanage, and she was brought up by nuns, and she learned the whole bible. Even after all of that she isn't religious. She can't stand to be around people who talk about religion, because it makes her uncomfortable. She has had a rough past, her father was abusive, and killed her mom before trying to kill Shadow, then killing himself. All of it was in front of her eyes, so she is scarred for life. She hates to talk about her past, but she finds it helps more. She never cries in public, and she keeps her emotions hidden.

She also has a female tamed pet wolf named Calypso. She defends Shadow no matter what, but can be the most gentle animal you've ever seen.

Name: Annaleya (Lee) Night

Age: Fourteen.

Gender: female

Race: werewolf. XD

Skills: As Human: good fighter, strong, fast, good with knives. As Wolf: Same, minus knives. Is generally a great vampire hunter, at the top of her class.

Magical or Not: Yes, she is.

Personality: Quiet, tough, and broody. Isn't outgoing, isn't bubbly, independent as anything. Has a soft side, but it's hidden under a thousand layers of harsh, cold, toughness.

Appearance: Black hair, big blue eyes, tall and athletic.





Likes: being a wolf, music, night, the cold, the environment.

Dislikes: people who hunt her, pollution, heat, dead silence, bright sunlight.

History: Lived a normal life until she was nine, and turned into a werewolf. She embraced her wolf side and started spending a lot of time in the woods. Lived on her own, afraid of hurting those she loved, in an apartment she pays for with money from her job working at Jamba Juice, a smoothie shop. She kept to herself, and so far, she thinks, she's alive, so she must be on to something.

Other: wears a carved ebony wolf on a suede string around her neck. Loves being a wolf so much that people on campus are used to seeing a black wolf with blue eyes walking around, as she's quite often in that form. Has her wolf side very well controlled. (Theme is Fragile, by Kerli) Loves skateboarding as well. As a wolf, she's incredibly dangerous and very powerful.

Name: Kufai "Fai" Belovine

Age: 97, practically an infant in vampire terms.

Gender: Male

Race (Human, werewolf, vampire, etc.): Vampire

Skills: Stealth, speed, strategy, and a strength. He's better at sneak attacks rather than head-to-head battle, and he's a pro at planning.

Magical or Non-magical: Non-magical

Personality: He's nice, sweet, and curious. His curiosity gets the best of him at times. If there is a crash in the forest, or mysterious person suddenly shows up, Fai will want to know every detail of what happened. Though he keeps his cool at most times, being that he is still fairly young as a vampire, his *beast shows whenever he gets really angry. When that happens, it's best for everyone if he's left alone.

Appearance:

Likes/Dislikes: Likes: His bear Kuzo. Full moons and thunderstorms. Vanilla ice cream and root beer. Sunflowers. "Exploring." Dislikes: Eggs and bacon. Roses, he hates the way they smell. Fighting unless he has to and when his beast comes out. Not being able to control himself when he does go into "beast mode".

History: His parents left him on the street after he was born, they didn't have the money or time to raise him correctly. One day, a vampire was walking around after dinner when she heard crying coming from a nearby trashcan. When she looked in she was surprised to find a week old infant curled beside a tattered black and white teddy bear. Quickly, the vampire picked the boy up and took him home. The years went by and Kufai was raised outside of normal humans, his mother, Katana, taught him everything he needed to know. When Fai turned seventeen, he was struck with pancreatic cancer. Katana was devastated at the thought of losing her only son and turned him into a vampire.

Other: *beast: Whenever Fai gets really angry the truly untamed side of his being comes out and he often hurts people he loves when in this state. Kuzo is Fai's bear, his parents left it with him so that he wouldn't be alone in the only and last days. They also had the faint hope that if he should be found, the bear would remind him of them. They never actually thought someone would find him though. Kufai doesn't know much about his true parents, but he really doesn't want to know about them either, he's perfectly happy with accepting Katana as his mother.

Skills: His greatest skill is his aim. It would be with a dagger or a throwing disk. His aim nearly always is perfect. He's also pretty good at hiding and staying quiet.

Magical or Non-magical: Non-magical

Personality: He's one of those people you can't really read. His true personality is even hidden from himself. He has trouble talking to girls and is very often self-conscience and shy. He tends to mimic the personalities of those he admires. One thing that he's confident about is his ability to hunt -and kill- vampires. Also, he's becoming a pretty good musician (piano)/singer. He's begining to gain confidence in his music. People actually are jealous of that fact. Something Lucius would have a hard time believing. As I said before, he doesn't really know who he is. He struggles with confidence issues, people skills and finding out who he really is.

Appearance: He's got extremely curly ink, black hair. It hangs in ringlets in his eyes and just below his ears. His eyes are a light brown with little flecks of green if you look close enough. He's of average height, standing at around 5'11 or in tennis shoes, 6'0. He's got wiry muscles from years of working out to hunt some vampires. (; And his skin is permanently golden brown from the years of being out in the sun. He could definitely turn some heads if he'd just learn to be confident in himself.

History: Hunting vampires was the only future for him. His mother and father met from hunting vampires, fell for each other and had a baby girl. Her name was Monica and she was Lucius's sister. When Lucius came along, Monica wasn't cast aside like some children. No, she was still her parent's pride and joy. She was beautiful. She had Lucius's same inky black hair, but had flawless porcelain skin and bright green eyes. Nearly everyone she met fell in love with her charm and beauty.

But she was taken and killed by a vampire. Well, she was killed in their eyes. A vampire changed her into one of them. Lucius was 8 years old (Monica was 14 - there is a 6 year difference). His parent's became obsessive with the vampire hunt. He knows that they still feel guilty, because the only reason the vampire had done it was because his parents had killed many of their own. It was a revenge thing and his parent's need for revenge of their own is running all of their lives.

And Lucius's future was no longer up to him. His parents decided for him. He will never forget the day he told his dad he just wanted to be a normal teenage boy (he was 15 at the time). He told him that he wanted to go to a normal school and eventually college. His dad told him that he was being selfish and that he didn't care about his sister. Lucius did feel a little guilty at first, but can't deny he'd rather do anything than be a vampire hunter. But his dad won't hear of it. So he does it for their approval. Because- even in death- it seems Monica is still the center of their lives.

And thus you get why Lucius is not very confident. His parents do love him - and he does them too- but they critize him and tell him that hunting vampires is should be what he wants to do. For Monica. Lucius misses his sister, she understood him the most, but she's dead in his mind. Because even if he doesn't want to be a vampire hunter, he still hates them. Not just because they are unnatural and evil, but because they took his sister.

Other: Meh...he's got a tatto running down his right forearm that reads "Respect and Honor" in large, black chinese letters. Outlined in blood red.
