Bigger version

We're doing still-life in art class. This one is not exactly finished, so any suggestions to make it look more "complete" (or any suggestions in general) would be great :) Mainly, I feel that the problem with this is the lack of a central point; where the central point is supposed to be (the face) happens to be the lightest area/least detailed (opps!) and my lack of art knowledge has me stumped on a possible fix (help!)

Ignore the line at the bottom - I just bought a new scanner and then realized that it's waay too small for most of the projects I've been doing, so I had to double-scan. T_T

It's resized considerably. Original version is something like 2799 x 2400. This one's a mere 589 x 480 8D

whoa this is pretty cool
my suggestion, which probably isnt a good one since i quit art ages ago, is to do the face area in a darker, thicker pencil and make the lines sharper, jagged almost, and as you work your way out the the edges of the drawing, get lighter and the lines get smoother and curvier.
I dont know xD in my head it looks cool.
Other than that, and the lack of detail in the face, its good.

Audy!

Well, I'm not that adept at art, but I can say for sure that the subtle shading on the face and on the bottom surface as well as the left object have been done really well. The ears, the prominent shape of the face, the nose and the hat are all very interesting to look at and I find myself engrossed in the whole detail of it.

Yes, the face could have been more darker and maybe some more primary indents and wrinkles on the face could bring some more life into the subject. Apart from that, I can't find any other nitpicks that my poor artsy mind can fathom.

I'm eager for the finished piece! I love art and you're making me love it even more. Drawings and sketchings always have their own uniqueness that can charm their audience. I love this art! Keep it up, Audy! I want to see more!!

ok first of all, I don't really understand what it is- it didnt really pull me in to see more, so my advice is that you define the work- at first I thought it was a Indian but Im still alittle confused, and other tip is to color it or outline it, to catch my attention. Sorry if I was alittle harsh! D: so plz forgive me! thanks, keep drawing!

Hey there!
Your work is really cool... I dont know anything much about drawing. When was navigating the pages it dragged my attention. you have really got talent. If possible let me know once you are completely done with this drawing. I felt the shade was inappropriate in some places. You have good creativity.. Keep Drawing.
All the best...
