Dreams Tell Lies and Books Need Covers!

Heylo there~! You're now in my trap! Buhaha... Right, I'll just get on with why I've summoned you here.

I'm Justtrying and I'm going to do some shameless promotion for my friend, IcyFlame. (Tatatat- read till the end.)

Recently, she's written an amazing book which goes by the name 'Dreams Tell Lies.' It has its own club too! Here's the link to the club where you can find the book and it's chapters: page.php?id=1201

Now, you see the picture she's put to represent the book? Well, it ain't so great for such a great book. So she decide to start a Book-Cover-Contest, giving away generous prizes to not only the winners, but the participants too! (You can find the link to the competition in the above link too.)

The Judges will be: Author IcyFlame, herself, along with awesome Ranger Hawk and... well, Skins.

Guess what? I entered! So, here's my one out of many (which I still have to make) covers:





What? Think you can do better? Prove it. Enter the competition and prove you are awesomer than me~! (Which is, trust me, quite easy to prove.)

So, get those magical fingers ready, and enter the contest and give me some real healthy competition.

Wow! Shameless promotion there Sakhi! I'm blushing!
Of course, I won't really tell you too much about my thoughts on this cover... that might be cheating but I will say it looks good! Try to resize it and perhaps improve the quality (when I enlarged it I could see the pixels but that may have been to do with the size).
Also, although the 'An IcyFlame production' is a nice idea - it reminds me a little of film companies.
As for the image itself... well you'll have to wait and see! Thanks for entering!

Not bad.
I can see the vision and how incredible it would look with state of the art programs. Although the label and company name at the bottom strikes me as kind of tacky.
Its size and font is reminiscent of a ostentation underground rap cd from the 90s.

Well there are thirteen entries so far so this seems to be quite a popular book! Perhaps I should take a read and then try to make my own cover? I like the second much better because it seems to fit together better. In the first cover, it looks as though you've got an odd separation between the pictures. I don't really know about the colours on the second one though. I get that Icy and Flame both have corresponding colours but I think it would have looked better in one colour.

Hello there.

First things first, I'll be talking about re-sizing. Please, re-size these pictures, because I can't really see anything of the first cover... It's too big, and most people will find something less attractive to their eye because it's divided into many parts, and you can't really see it as a whole.

Although, I can see the second picture more easily. I like the eye, I'm somehow fascinated by them.
I also like the fact that you can see picture in the background, almost invisible to the eye. The problem with that, is that I can see some of the backgrounds. Like the picture at the bottom right, I can see the background surrounding the picture of the girl lying in her bed. If you could maybe blur that out so it's not as 'random', and maybe looks like it actually belongs there. It's the same for the eye.

Overall, you did a great job. I wish you luck for the contest!
