Dreams Tell Lies (Contest Cover)

Dear Icy,

Since you forced encouraged me into entering your contest, here is my entry. Unfortunately, it was the best that I can do in minutes. *sigh* I did not promise to enter, but I still tried my best to make you happy. Please be happy with the entries. There's one that I love, and I guess I just couldn't do better than s/he. ROFL

I have to admit. This was hard because of the shape of the letters of the title. *sigh again* Enough of my babble.

Dreadful. I know. I chose such dreadful looking fonts. GAH. Plus, I can't get the right size! XD Bye!

I love the idea behind this, with the images in the forest. You may be right about the fonts, because they are all so very different from each other but I'm still glad you entered!
Plus, you get a pretty present - which makes it worthwhile anyway

Icy, I did intend to use three different-looking fonts. ) It's just that it was hard to pick which ones from my available fonts. XD I'm glad you're glad. =))

There is no color unity to be found in this. There's a very icky yellow, a lurid red, black, intense blue, and puce. The puce and yellow in particular are rather offensive to my poor color sensibilities separately, but together, they ascend to a whole new level of "How can there possibly be such ugly colors?!"

*shudders*

Now, the typefaces you used aren't terrible, and I actually quite like the one you have "A Novel" in as it sets it nicely apart from the rest of the text, but it is a horrible font to use for "IcyFlame", and the placement of "Dreams Tell" relative to "Lies" just doesn't feel right,mostly due to how "Dreams Tell" is perfectly centered while the hugely conspicuous leader for "Lies" results it it being very obviously off-center.

Next time you make a cover, try and keep color unity in mind. The colors should work well together, and you shouldn't have too many, even as you shouldn't have too many typefaces.
