Hi, my name is Stiv, I'm a new writer and I'm correctly struggling to write my first creation. I live in Israel, and from the situation here I actually got the idea for the story, who said that being in range of rockets doesn't have it's benefits?
I'm sorry that you're struggling with your writing, but after spending a while on here you pick up a lot of tips and tricks that make writing a lot easier. Can I ask what you write and if it is stories what genre you write?

My story falls under the genre of fantasy, and it's going to show the dark side of god(not in the religious way) as a warrior. I'm not really struggling with the plot itself, but with the beginning, which i currently try to write.
That's totally awesome, you're from Israel! I'm from the states myself. It's always cool meeting people from other far-away places though. But anyway, so you say you're struggling to write your first creation. Happens to the best of us. What's great about YWS though is that there are so many other great writers here to help you when your story could use some picking up and honest critique. So you've definitely come to the right place I think.
Anyway though, I hope you're liking the site so far. There's a lot to do and a lot of fun to be had, a lot of people to meet. It's difficult to grow bored when it seems there's always something waiting just around the corner. Your novel idea sounds pretty cool, I like the idea of God as a warrior - I'm not religious myself but the way I see it, any leader must also be a warrior to protect their people. So interesting concept!
I just wanted to tell you a little about The Buddy System. Basically, a new member like yourself can choose one of our older members to show them around and answer any questions you might have. They also review some of your work and help you meet other members around the site. It's just a really great way to get to know people and to learn the ropes aat YWS. Your novel idea sounds awesome, and hey, try not to worry about struggling with the beginning. I'ma big fan of writing novels, so I definitely know how hard starting one off can be. I know you'll be able to get something written that you love eventually. Just practice, practice, practice! Besides, the idea itself sounds awesome, so I'm sure you'll be able to do it.
You should pop into YWS chat! It's an awesome way of getting to know people around the site, and an even better way of making friends, You can chat freely about anything in chat (within a limit, of course!), from your favourite books to the foods you hate. You should check it out!

You'll feel right at home in no time, it's a great place to make friends and improve your writing at the same time. There's a writing tutorial forum, the writing tips forum, but these are just the fringe. I improved my writing (and critiquing) skills by reading and critiquing other peoples' work.
