Hi everyone! :D
Obviously, I'm new or I wouldn't be posting here. :P I'm really excited to be a part of this community. I usually just write short stories, no novels, about romantic comedy, adventure, or mysteries. I have no idea how things work except how to submit works. Could anyone give me a nudge in the right direction? Oh, and how do I get a profile picture thing? Thank you! (:

Well, welcome!
We're just a big family here, I'm sure you'll find your'e place in not time.
If there's a specific something you want to know, PM me, I'll help happily. But for a general advice, just keep an eye on the updates, don't push thinks or review stuff you don't really like, and take it easy, no need to rush anything.
That's all, and don't forget, if your'e in a problem, give me a shout(PM not really a shout) and I'll be there in no time.

Heya and welcome!

To get an avatar, hover your mouse over My YWS and go to "Edit Your Profile." and look to the right, for a list of menus. "Edit Profile" should be in red. Under that, you should see "Edit avatar." Just follow the instructions there to upload it. ^^

As for how things work, you review (at least a paragraph of your thoughts) then submit your works to get reviews! If you're unsure what to review, just hit "shuffle" at the top of the page, under the header. You'll get a totally random work. It's pretty fun to use. :)

But, really, the best thing to do is just poke around! If you need anything PM me. YWS can be a huge place but our admin's tried to make it as intuitive as possible. We're a pretty tight-knit community for our size, but because of how many members are around you're almost guaranteed to find somebody who shares your interests. ^^

Are you more for lighthearted stuff? Darker? Somewhere in between?

Hope to see you around the site!
