My name is Spinelli, and I am typing on a computer. Just to give you small impression of myself, I suppose I'll simply talk about myself as if you were actually interested. OK. Uh. So.

And gosh darn it I hope you're a happy camper too because I love it when people are happy Anyway, I've been writing since I was about 9 years old. [I remember my first simile...] And I haven't been able to stop writing since. I've had my ups and downs regarding writing, my momentary "I'll never be a writer!" outrages and my exasperated "This is the worst story I've ever written!" cries. But at this point I realize it is a never-ending characterstic of me. I can't help but to write words.

I hope to meet others with the same literary compulsions! :{D

But anyway, welcome to the awesomeness that is YWS, Spinelli!! This is a really great site to be a part of, especially if you love writing that much! I must say, I'm impressed. I only started writing two years ago, when we had to write a short story for English and mine was stinking awesome ;P so them I started with fanfiction.net and then one of my bestest buddies on there told me about this awesomesauce place about two months ago, and here I am :3

But enough about me. What are your favorite genres? What do you like to write? There are so many different kinds of things you can write on here. There's like a billion kinds of poetry and then a billion types of short stories and an equal amount of novels as well! You can even post art on here!! I was surprised by that :3

Everyone here is amazing and so nice and welcoming. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do! It's so fun and you get to learn a lot. You can definitely improve when you're a part of YWS.

Hey there, Spinelli! That's an awesome name by the way, it reminds me of the character off recess who went by the same name. She was totally my fav as well. Anyway! I digress.

Welcome to the site You'll find there's a huge variety of people here so I'm sure some are happy campers. In fact I know quite a few who are. I'm sort of that way myself. I have my downs but most of the time I love life!

Annnd I totally get you with the literary compulsion. I've tried to go down so many other routes because they seemed more sensible or constructive, I even tried studying law for a year but the writing just keeps pulling me back. I've finally given up and I have a huge career paved out for me in my head and every possible route involves a pen and the awesomeness of words. I'll not bore you with the details though because honestly, when I get started on those dreams, I just don't stop talking!

Anyway, if you have any questions or would like a review, drop me a PM and I'll help you out in any way I can If you're feeling particularly lost, we have a buddy system you might be interested in where you choose one of our mentors to show you around the site, answer your questions and give you some reviews. ZOMG! What did you name yourself after?! When I first saw your name, I thought of Jerry Spinelli, an author who I absolutely loved as a kid. Like, he was the one who wrote Maniac Magee, The Library Card, and a whole bunch of other books. Though... maybe you named it after yourself?

Don't mind me! I'm just the crazy/obsessive person on the site who likes children's literature, lol. >.>

And yay! Happy people (or campers) are awesome. I think the only times I'm not happy is when a story isn't going quite right... remind you of anybody?

Anyhow, welcome! As you've probably noticed, we're a pretty friendly bunch around here. We are also pretty writing-obsessed, and I know a lot of us tend to throw tantrums when we've got writer's block, so I think you'll fit right in.

The people are wonderful (mostly ), receiving reviews is helpful, but reviewing something yourself (so I have found) is actually a lot more helpful. That's just me, though. Anyway, this is a writing site, and it's somehow insanely addictive. So be warned.

WOW! Hello all of you! I already like this place XD Thank you all for this wonderful greeting, and sorry I didn't bother replying sooner but this has been a busy week. [I graduate tomorrow! Well today, it's 4 in the morning...] Anyway! To answer a few of the common questions, I did actually get my name from Jerry Spinelli haha I made up my pen name when I was like 11 so I wasn't very creative with it, and at the time I was in love with his books [I mean I still am, but-OK lol]. I had a whole full psuedonym but I just dropped it down to spinelli because, I dunno. I think it's cooler.

Genres! I like basically a whole lot of everything with a big fat side portion of stuff that most definately costs extra. I write fiction, both fantasy and realistic, mostly humorous but I do have serious stuff. And I love children's literature too! n_n Lemony Snicket, Artemis Fowl...

Did I see a question about music? [Yes.] Uuuuuuhh, I like a lot of stuff, too much to mention. Haha. But currently I've been listening to Noah and the Whale and Fanfarlo. Great little British bands with those fancy accents.
