Annie Cresta

This a picture of Annie Cresta. If you aren't familiar with the Hunger Games, she is the girlfriend (and later wife) of one of the main characters; here she is on her wedding day in District 13. Hope you enjoy! Sorry for the poor quality; I don't have a scanner so this was taken from my phone.

Good work, Eli! You did well with the face and hair, but the arms are very strange and thin-like. Did you put them behind her back so you wouldn't have to draw hands?
The poster above is good, but you shouldn't have colored it with wavy lines like that. Allso, i would like to see some background, maybe the wedding party or cake or whatever.
It's not professional, but it's still pretty good.

Yeah, I sort of suck at drawing hands. I was going to do them resting on her lips, but as I was drawing it just didn't work out that way. Thanks for the advice! I'll probably add some more background, because, yeah, the wedding cake is actually pretty important in the scene that they get married in.

Hey there, Eli! Sorry for the wait.

So, a quick couple thoughts on this:
I like the idea and simplicity. You did a good job at creating someone who looks like an actual character and you've somehow introduced a personality. (and I haven't read the books)
You might consider cleaning up your lines a bit and defining where you want them. You don't look like you were shading, but your lines are a bit messy, especially towards the top half of the body towards the face.
You might also work on defining the facial characteristics a bit. You haven't given us enough of an angle for her face for the right side (our right) to be that much bigger than the left, and her face is kind of non-descript. Introduce more character there.

Otherwise, nice job!

This is pretty good. I quite like her eyes, her hair and the banner.

What I would say is that she seems sort of slanted. Like the right side of her face and her right shoulder are bigger than the left sides. I mean of course no one is perfectly symmetrical but it's just something to keep in mind if you aren't drawing on a level surface. I tend to accidentally do it sometimes because I just draw with a pad on my knee.

Also I think I can see the shape of her original head, which is a little odd. What I tend to do is draw in a HB pencil really light to get all the rough lines down and then go over the final lines in a darker pencil like a 2B. That way you can rub out (or erase) your structural lines.

What I would say is to just go online and try to find some drawing tutorials. There are sooo many out there. I use them all the time. Maybe look up ones on how to do human anatomy and things like that.

My favorite part about this is her face- it's just so soft and sweet. I especially like how you drew in and colored the lips, because most people would've just drawn the one line and not shaded at all!
I really like the colors you used here (I'm a bit fan of color haha). Even though it's simple it looks realistic.
It is obvious that you hid the hands (hey, don't feel bad I do it all the time x)), but to me the fact that her arms are so skinny is even more distracting. If you want to get really picky about proportions, you'll see that the smallest part of her wrist is nearly the same width as her eye O_O Try using some kind of reference, even yourself
The banner is a cute idea, but it looks like it was scribbled in at the last minute. Little details make all the difference in art, and if you look closely you can see the yellow waves and the pencil beneath the red border. These are all things that can be edited and fixed easy-peasy.
