If I could, I'd be a snowflake
so light-weight and free
carried on the whims of the wind

If I could, I'd be a snowflake
each one individual
but with a uniform sameness, safe and calm

If I could, I'd be a snowflake
freeing kids of treacherous work
and providing them with a place of wonder

If I could, I'd be a snowflake
nature's own miracle
spreading a soft blanket for the Earth to sleep in

If I could, I'd be a snowflake
the difference between
a blizzard and a sprinkling

and even though
I would only last moments
those moments would be eternities
and when I fall safe to the ground
I would know I did my part
in making the world a better place

I'm a huge fan of writers block! When your brain halts, with no direction for where you should go, it gives you threads. All you have to do is pull and unravel the story you're meant to write.

This was a really good poem! Ironically, I actually was going to write about comparing myself to a snowflake....But anyway, very well done. You used descriptive words making the poem have good imagery. Nice job! :)
