Her eyes sparkled along with the fire that her body danced around. She laughed as she swayed back and forth keeping in rhythm with the music’s beat. She laughed and hummed along to the beat smiling happily. Her sister soon joined her, laughing along side of Esus. They both danced under the moonlight.
Soon the song ended, and Esus wiped the sweat off her forehead. She tightened her curly hair, that was bound by a piece of ribbon. Sighing contently to herself, she watched her village celebrate the moon festival Serrini. Her face glowed with happiness. She laughed into the night, celebrating her favorite part of the Byari calendar.

A young Byari male, came up to her and offered her his hand. She blushed slightly and glanced across the fire. She made eye contact with her father, whom nodded his head in approval. Her smile widened and her eyes sparkled as she took his hand and danced along side with him. She looked into his eyes, when their bodies pressed together. Something in the back of her mind told her the act was wrong.

Her stomach suddenly churned. She felt sick. She quickly pushed him away, her face turning pale, and her eyes wide with shock. The young male looked even more shocked and upset. Her looked at her with flushed cheeks, and the sting of rejection filled his features. She watched as he stormed away, and she felt her knees grow weak. She felt her sister hurry over to her concerned and spoke words. The only thought she could hear was the same sentence being repeated multiple times. Each time the phase faded away more in the deep recesses of her consciousness.

Do not betray Him. Go to Him, find Him.

“Find who?” she whispered. Her sister’s eyes widened with shock.

“What?” her sister asked. Esus was in a daze when she looked up at her sister.

“I need to find Him,” she whispered giving her sister a pleading look. Her mind was racing. She had no idea what was happening, and nor why her body was starting to move and work on its own. It wanted her to move. To leave and head South.

“Do not let her go!” she heard her father yell over the music. Suddenly the music and the celebration came to a halt. Everyone’s eyes fell on her. She started to feel tears swell and spill over the edge. Something was terribly wrong, and she did not know how to fix it. She had not seen her father move, but suddenly she was in his strong arms. Slowly the feelings seeped away. Cowering away from the overwhelming presence of her father. She felt her body go limp slightly and she hid her face into his strong, broad chest.

She tried to sort through the many thoughts bouncing around her head, causing her head to throb painfully. She groaned, trying to push them all way. “Papa?` I,” she paused not exactly sure what she was saying. It was purely on impulse she continued in a soft whisper, “I have to find Him. I need to go to Him.” She frowned even more confused. Why had she just said that? She missed the grimace that fell across his features. He tanned face lost all color and he simply nodded his head. The heat radiated off his body, soothing her.

Lost in her thoughts, Esus had not realized that her father carried her all the way back to their house on the outskirts of their village. Some where down the line of her ancient Byari ancestors, someone had built this house and village that accompanied it. They named the village after one of the ancestors also. Her family governed the small village Thel. Her father was the status of a Liya Genyun, but her mother’s life was a mystery. Her father hid all information concerning her mother from both Azer and herself.

The sisters’ mother had died giving birth to Esus and Azer. The 16 minas her parents had spent together where one of passion and happiness, was all they knew about their mother. The Byari calendar was vastly different from the one the humans used. The years consisted of minas instead of months. Where the human months consisted of 30 or 31 days, a Byari minas was a span of 45 days. And a year, instead of 12 months, was 14 minas. Growing up, the girls quickly came to the conclusion that their mother got pregnant only after knowing their father for less than 2 minas. They were not properly mated under the rules that governed the Byari.

She snapped out of her thoughts of her mother when her father slowly set her down. Her feet met the cold wood floor of their home, and she gripped the doorway to steady herself. She held back the urge to throw up. She slowly glanced up at her father and felt tiny in his presence as she often did.

She watched as her father paced back and forth mumbling to himself. Esus’ normal keen ears did not pick what he was saying. She felt even smaller. She tired to pull from the Liusuke. Her energy was suddenly sucked out of her body and she panicked. She had never been able to not reach into the Liusuke. She started to breath quickly and tried again, and again to pull the warmth of the Liusuke to her. Nothing came. She was cut off, her body was not responding and her natural Riusu was gone. She felt like she was drowning, the suffocating sensation engulfed her entire being.

She felt a sharp sting across her face. She blinked a few times. Her eyes wide, she starred at her sister. “You-“ she paused trying to find her voice. “You just hit me!” she said in fury. She blinked again before moving. She was free from the sensations that threaten her sanity. She was not going crazy. Not losing her grip on reality. She was not drowning, and she could breath freely again. The tug on her soul was slowly fading away. The urge to head south was slipping.

“Now that you got ahold of yourself,” Azer said with a huff. “Explain.” She said more of a demand than a request. Esus gapped at her sister for more than a couple moments. She was not sure how to explain herself.

Yeah, there was a whisper in my head. It told me that I betrayed some man, and that I needed to find him. Oh also, my body suddenly took over and wanted me to go south. Not to mention that I lost control of my Riusu and wasn’t able to tap into the Liusuke. I would look more insane than I do right now. Talking to myself.
“I have no idea,” she softly said. She avoiding making eye contact with Azer. She would be able to tell Esus was lying. She could never trick Azer. Her father stayed mute and walked into his study room and shut himself off from them. Azer watched him, concerned, as he close the door. She than turned her focus back to her sister, raising an eye brow. “I really have no clue what happen Az, its another mystery that surrounds the freak that is Esus,” she said with a smile. Azer did not laugh, not even a smirk. Esus sighed in defeat.

Ryker gently scratched the back of his neck as he jogged through the grounds. The same route, at the same time of day, same pace, nothing changed. He was restless and something was missing. He could not get rid of the nagging feeling of incompleteness. His skin tingled and the hairs on his neck stood on end. Something was going to happen, his body could feel it. His Riusu was swirling around inside him with excitement.

Do not get too excited, a dull voice rang in his mind. Ryker rolled his eyes as he continued his morning jog. The birds high in the trees chirped happily in the morning mist.

And the beast makes his appearance, Ryker said in annoyance. You have been oddly quiet lately.

I needed some time away from you, the voice replied dryly.

Ryker laughed out loud and slowed his pace. He stopped next to the lake side, and watched the water glisten against the morning sky. You can’t get time away from me, Rav.

Maybe that is just what I want you to think. Ryker laughed again and the voice remained silent as he enjoyed watching the mist slowly rise. The morning sun warmed his cooled skin. Sweat slowly glistened and slide down his neck and down his back. He flexed his defined muscles and sighed as he continued his run.

“Master Ryker!” someone called behind him. Ryker did not reduce his speed. “Master Ryker!” they yell came louder when he did not slow his pace. He debated trying to run, but knew he would eventually get caught. He grumbled silently to himself as he turned to face a small, round old male.

Do you think he will bounce if I send him flying about 50 yards? Ravi said in an amused voice. Ryker held back a small smirk and shot the fat man an annoyed look.

“Everyone knows that I’m not to be bothered while I’m training. This better be important,” he stated. The man’s green eyes shifted nervously. Ravi laughed in Ryker’s mind when he sensed fear flowing off the man.

“Your…” his voice squeaked and he quickly cleared his throat. “Your mother just arrived.”

“Now, Petsul. You came all the way out here, just to tell me my mother arrived? Why not just send a message to me, hmm?” Ryker said in a patient tone.

Petsul opened his mouth a couple of times flushing, and shifted his extreme weight from one leg to the other. “Sh-she demanded that you were personally told, and escorted to her, Master. She d-didn’t want you to disappear again.”

Flashed Petsul a mischievous grin. Ryker’s mind quickly dipped into the Liusuke. Ryker lifted up his hand and waved goodbye to Petsul as his body lost its defiant shape and faded into nothing. Petsul panicked, attempting to grab hold of Ryker but only air fell through his grasps.

Ryker laughed as he ran around the side the large, main house’s building. He lifted up his hand and quickly shot a burst of power to his right, he heard his younger brother yelp than the sound of a thump that followed. Ryker laughed louder and continued his escape running through the servants back door.

Ry… warned Ravi. Ryker blinked but did not have time to react. Suddenly two pairs of arms grabbing him and dragging him to the floor painfully. He pulled against the Liusuke once again. His smirk grew wider. His brother’s yelled of pain made him laugh.

“You ass!” he heard one of them yell. He was already rounding the corner.

Ry… Notice anything missing? Ravi said in a tone Ryker did not comprehend at first. When he glanced down, he was naked. He burnt off his cloths when he dramatically raised the temperature of his skin to get away.

I wondered why it was a little drafty in here, Ryker laughed. He skidded to a stop when he came face to face with a group of servant girls. His hands quickly went to cover himself, but he smiled, his eyes sparkling. “Good day ladies,” he said before he took off down the hall. Their giggles and whispered filled the halls.

No shame, Ravi grumbled. Ryker glanced behind him to see Rafferty closing in on him. He did not have time to reach for the Liusu before his cheek swiftly met the hard wood floor. He attempted to remove the ropes from his feet but his brother was on him quickly.

“You will meet with Mother this time Ry. We will take you by force,” Rafferty said grunting.

“Do you think the two of you can take me on your own?” Ryker replied smugly. It was widely known that the nephews of the Queen were three of the most powerful Liya Neben. Though the middle brother was the prodigy, he was also the less motivated. The oldest brother was raising quickly through the ranks of the Liya Neben, quickly gaining political power. The youngest brother, equally as talented as his oldest brother, was following his footsteps. The family had high hopes for the three of them, but always put through the mischief that followed the middle brother.

“We will seal your Riusu if we have to Ry,” said Rook when he finally caught up. “By the way, how did you know I was outside?”

“I felt your Riusu,” Ryker grunted when Rafferty lifted him up roughly. “Fine, Fine! I will meet with mother,” he said reluctantly. He formed cloths that appeared on his body in an instant and he fixed his collar.

“Did you teleport those, or did you make them?” ask Rook.

“Does it matter?” smirked Ryker. Rafferty slapped his on the back of the head and Rook laughed. The three bothers slowly made their way to the large library where their mother was waiting for them.

This was rather short as far as chapters go and it doesn't seem to match up with the Prologue. I'm not sure whether this is past or future (I'm assuming past) and, well, it just seems awkward. I don't know how to explain it. And not everything fit together.

It's still good, however, and I'll keep reading, if only to figure out what these people are and why humans are mad at them...
My SPD senses are tingling.
