My name is Sandvich. I write post-apocalyptic stuff, because I think how people would act after civilisation gets destroyed very interesting.
Because I'm weird like that.

I'm probably not as good as anyone here, because I haven't written in my free time in almost two years and only started recently, but I'll get better, once I actually dream up a good plot-line in Health Ed tomorrow, because that lesson's not good for anything else. :)

I have nothing else to say. Goodbye. :)

EDIT: I apologise. The previous statement was, in fact, a lie. I am 13 years old. I live in a very obscure city in Southern England called Portsmouth. It is the city of 'hard' people and sailors.

Ok, NOW I have nothing more to say. Goodbye. :)

'Ello Sandvich! First of all, love the avatar!

Second, post-apocalyptic, eh? Ironically enough, I'm working on something about that, though I doubt it even resembles what you do. I'd love to see your work; do you have any of it up yet?

Don't worry about looking bad on here; we all do at some time or other. Heck, I look amateurish all the time. We're all amateurs here. The nice thing about YWS is that we're all learning, and we all help each other learn, whether through reviews or other methods.

A few different really cool things about the site is the Knowledge Base. Under either Resources (on the bar thing up above) or under Community forums. It has a ton of writing tutorials, grammar and research things, and other threads to help people with writing. I suggest you check them out.

Also, just for the heck of it, go to Community (on the bar above). There are many cool forums and threads that deal with a lot of awesome stuff. I'll let you check all that out for yourself.

Anyways, Welcome to YWS! Hope your time here is wonderfully, awesomely, amazingly, wicked!

Thanks!
This is so much friendlier than the Steam Forums already :)
I don't have any work up yet. I did a fanfic for Left 4 Dead a while back, but it's unfinished and not as good as I think I can do.
I'll probably spend most of tomorrow morning reading the tutorials, and spend most of tomorrow thinking of an original doom-death-destruction scenario, which is harder than it sounds :(

Hey there Sandvich!

Postapocalyptic? That's awesome! That sort of stuff has always interested me too (though I have never written anything set in a postapocalyptic world. At least not yet).

Don't worry about thinking you're not "good" enough. One of the great things about YWS is we have people of all skill levels, and everyone is so helpful and nice. I can tell you, my writing has improved ten-fold since I joined the site a year and a half ago. And chances are, you're already a lot better than you think!

Can't wait to see your work around the site!

Hey Sandvich! Welcome to YWS! :D

Like everyone said before, seriously don't worry about not being "good enough". Everyone here is super friendly and wants others to get better. And I bet you're better than you say you are! :)
Another way to improve that hasn't been mentioned yet, is to review others work. By seeing what you like and don't like in other people's work can help you figure out how to improve your own work. Don't get intimidated by long, professional looking reviews. If you're not comfortable getting super nit-picky and stuff you don't have to. Just give your honest opinion. :)

Let me know if you have any questions or need anything at all (reviews, a friend, whatever!)

I like to read that stuff, so I guess I'm just weird like that, too. Oh well, I'm sure we'll manage to live with being "weird," shan't we? After all, ain't no other way to live! Enjoy YWS!
