Theon
Theon had never been keen on Torreal: the man might have been good, but he was always a touch too secretive, with always that look that said he knew something you didn’t that got on one’s nerves very, very quickly.

Theon didn’t like him. And the longer he was looking at the crowd of girls spread across the row, the stronger his dislike grew. Not only was the man absolutely stark raving mad, he was flaunting the kingdom’s laws with intolerable cockiness, was dragging the rest of them down with him, and didn’t even have the decency to tell them why exactly he was doing it.

Not for the first time, he considered leaving, saddling his horse and returning to the capital, back to the court, and warning the king about what Torreal was doing. The promised gold was nothing to him; what stopped him was pride: backing out now would mean, in some way or another, letting Torreal score a point.

Obviously, that wasn’t going to happen.

So here he was, glowering at everything that had the bad luck of falling under his eyes and ignoring the food. That left him sweeping his gaze over those assembled and wrinkling his nose at them, for the most part. The various animals lurking around did spark some interest, but mostly had him wishing he’d brought a couple of his hounds with him. Maybe the wolf would do, but he suspected it wouldn’t be anything like what he was used to. How on earth those chits had ever gotten their hands on those beasts he had no idea.

And two of the men, apparently, were going to fight. Oh joy. He thought he’d left the barracks and their rowdiness a long time ago. No such luck.

He raised his head a bit higher when one of the men – Marcus, was it? – called the girls out. Finally, they might have some time to actually talk. Maybe the old codger would finally tell them what he was expecting.

“About time,” he muttered, not caring if the people around him could hear. He’d made his dislike of the situation clear, and he wasn’t going to stop anytime soon.

Theon was almost curious. The way he might have been curious to see a devastated battlefield: in a detached, half-horrified fashion.

[[sorry for the lateness. internet being stupid. thankfully Theon's enough of an arrogant idiot that we can just pass him off as having been ignoring and staring disdainfully at everyone from the start =P]]
Lumi: they stand no chance against the JAG SAFETY BLANKET

'Hush, hush!' I whispered; 'people can have many cousins and of all sorts, Miss Cathy, without being any the worse for it; only they needn't keep their company, if they be disagreeable and bad.
