'Sup Guys!!

Hi, I'm Natasha and I'm new.... obviously. I found this site while browsing for writing tips...

Anyway, I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself, so here's the whole spiel.
• I live in the UK.
• I love writing poetry and short stories.
• The colour purple is awesome.
• Mod fashion is the best.
• I play field hockey.
• I live for visual art and design.

So yeah... I'm kind of lost so some tips would be really great. <3

Hi, Natasha! (That's a pretty name, by the way!)

Welcome to YWS! How are you enjoying it so far? Heh, purple is fantastic! My favorite color is either pink or light blue, though. Do you have any favorite genres that you prefer over the other?

I think it's natural for all of us to feel lost at one point or another. This site is quite large! If you have a story, you might want to go ahead and post it! To do so, go to the "Read/Write" section in the header, and you'll get a drop-down menu. One of the options is "Submit Your Work"!

However, you also should review! To do this, leave a comment 250 characters or more [denoted by the little character counter on the lefthand side of the text box] on the literary works of others. Say what you liked, didn't like, what you think could be better, etc.

Other cool things you can do on YWS!

-> Blogs

Blogs! You have your own, and can post pretty much anything you want there! Just click on the blog drop-down menu, and you can see, "My Blog". If you go to Blog Config, you can even change the layout and that. It's the most active section of the site and there are a lot of members posting interesting blogs which you can read and comment!

-> The Knowledge Base

This is an awesome database of articles written by YWSers, for YWSers. There are various sections that include some great writing tips and help about the site.

-> The Chatroom

Here is a fantastic place to meet a whole bunch of really cool people, and just relax and chat. You meet a lot of really cool people here!

-> The Poetry and Short Story Databases

This is really awesome. You can easily browse through databases of classical short stories and poems, leave comments, and rate them from 1-5 stars. Now that anthologies have been released, you can even add poems and stories from there into your anthology! It's really neat.

Hi Natasha! Welcome to YWS. Yeah, everything that really needed to say Elinor said for us. But, I will say that, if you're still feeling a bit lost, especially if you can't seem to find your way around the site, please feel free to ask me for help! I'm yours to command.

But if you don't want to ask me for help (sad face), and you feel lost, I found that the best thing to do when you're a new member is to just click around the site and explore! It's so fun. Either way, though, you'll feel at home before you know what hit you.
