I have been meaning to write a story like this for while now, but have kind of been putting it off... I also have no idea where this story is going, either. So, here it is:
Excuses: Chapter One
I stood next to the young Dillon Patterson, smiling as we watched his new filly explore the large, green pasture. Her mother, a black and white Tobiano paint, was standing next to me, watching her child play. Standing so close to Dillon wasn't good, and his intoxicating scent was getting to me. I moved towards the mare, accidentally nudging her shoulder. I cursed under my breath as she moved over, crunching the grass under her hooves. I heard Dillon laugh, and I turned to him.
My attention was immediately drawn to his deep blue eyes. Just his eyes had the power to render me speechless. Trailing down his face, I took in all his handsome features; his broad nose, his high cheekbones, and his soft, luscious lips. I blushed, remembering how his lips felt pressed to mine.
"Nara," he said, stepping closer to me. I tried to look away, but I couldn't bring myself to draw my eyes from his face. "Would you like to stay for dinner?" I sighed, of course I did. I always wanted to stay for dinner, I wanted to stay for much more than dinner.
"I can't," I lied. I looked down at the ground, looking at my pink painted toenails, "I have to go back to the clinic." I apologized, and turned to leave the pasture. Dillon caught my wrist and I sighed, turning to face him. "Dillon, I really do have to go."
"You don't have to go back to the clinic, it's almost 8:30. Your clinic closes at six." Damn him, damn him to hell-he'd memorized my hours.
"But I..." I hesitated to think of an excuse, looking once again at his lips, "I have to make a house call tonight." Yeah, that works, I thought.
"Nara, I know you're lying." I swore under my breath and Dillon smiled. He knew me too well. "Just stay for dinner."
"It's not just dinner, Dillon." It was always much more. Much more than a meal, it would always turn into a kiss, and that kiss always led to us falling into bed.
"Well I promise I won't try anything," he was lying, I could see it in his eyes. I smiled; Dillon knew I wanted him.
"I'll stay, but as soon as I'm done dinner, I am getting in my truck and leaving," I told him, pulling him towards the house.
Dillon's house was a large, log farmhouse. It had a sense of home. The colors were light and friendly. Pictures of family were hung on the walls. Pictures of his neice and nephew, his sister and her husband, and his parents. There were even a few pictures of Dillon and I scattered about.
"I can almost guarantee that you'll hang around for more." I smiled, Dillon was so confident with himself. He didn't need to be, I would be attracted to him no matter what. And that will be the death of me, I had to keep coming back for more.
"I can't." I'd save the reason until after dinner. I wanted to enjoy his company for an hour or so. It wouldn't be right to break his heart, then make him eat dinner with me.
"I think I can change your mind," Dillon pulled me to him, our faces were inches apart, we were gazing into each other's eyes. I suddenly felt foolish, if someone saw us, what would they see? A couple in love, or an old lady with a young man? Most likely the latter. I sighed, pulling away and looked out the window, through the branches of a dogwood tree, and saw my black dodge sitting in the driveway. I could easily drive away and never come back, the problem was, I didn't want that.
"What's wrong, Nara?" Dillon asked, sounding concerned.
"What's wrong is I'm old."
"Nara," Dillon pulled me to him once again, pressing his lips to mine. It was just a quick peck, but it was enough to make me want more. Almost enough to make me forget why we couldn't do this, but there was always that voice in the back of my head, telling me how wrong this was. "You aren't old, you're young. You're beautiful, amazing, smart, sexy, and mine." Butterflies erupted in my stomach, before I stomped on them as hard as I could. Once I conquered each and every one of them, I pulled away again.
"Can we talk about this later," I pinched the bridge of my nose between my forefinger and thumb. It helped get rid of the tears that came with thinking about this talking to Dillon about this. Dillon nodded, before hugging me tightly. One of the good things about having a man who knows you so well is that he knows when you need a hug. One of the bad things is that it makes it that much harder to let him go.

What do you guys think? I wrote it when I was really bored, and should have been sleeping. Should it be longer, more detailed, or should I not continue?
I am kind of happy with this so far, I want to know what you think! :]
Comment, like, review please!
[Edit. May 10th. I added some things, more detail. Hope you like it.]
