i'm 16 years old and live on long island, new york. well this is just meant for introductions so i'll head over to the 'about the author' forum if i want to talk about myself (;

i was a member of yws in the past, but i went inactive. now i'm back so i can get some feedback on my novel in progress!

- ohh no i don't live in NYC hahaa - it's on a totally different island! i've been there plenty of times though. not exactly sure how to describe it, it's like every other big city out just with different landmarks and all x) guess i'm not the best person to ask about NYC hahaa
- i love electric blue and yellow <3
- i classify my novel as being fantasy/science fiction, but it doesn't deal with aliens, vampires, or werewolves- no - it's post-apocalypticism!
- ahh well i can't quite possibly limit myself to one favorite author/book but a few of my favorite books include- The Kite Runner, To Kill A Mockingbird, Looking for Alaska, Water for Elephants, Geek Love, The Glass Castle, The Other Boelyn Girl. an author whose books - all of them - i just love though is ellen hopkins <3.

Oo, To Kill A Mockingbrid? We're reading English, it is a good book
and yeah, forgive me I'm English? (haha, that's a pretty lame excuse) I should have realised you were talking about the state not the city!
But anyway, welcome! Oh, and your novel sounds very interesting, good luck with it and maybe you'll a little something here for us?

I have a novel in progress too. I would check out the group called "The Novelists". You can post words counts (among other things) there and I think it's really helpful to stay motivated.

So.....
If you could meet one singer/band and hang out with them for a day, who would you meet? If you could go to any country for any period of time, where would you go and how long would you stay? If you were a fruit, what kind would you be and why? If you were a marine biologist, what animal would you study and why? What's your baked good of choice?

hi there carly! thanks for the welcome and thanks haha i get that a lot (about my username ;3)
oh wow i'll definately be checking out this group because i need a lot of motivation. sounds like an interesting group as well.
- although i love music i'm not at all interested with meeting a singer/band; however, i've imagined meeting nick jonas and going on a hot date and living happily ever after no totally joking but i do think he's very cute.
- i'd like to go back to the same hotel in cancun i went to two summers ago for like a month if you'd throw in 'all expense paid' hahaa. or korea for a couple of months or so so i could learn the language
- maybe the animals located in the great barrier reef because it's absolutely GORGEOUS (well dangerous too) there. for a specific animal i can only think of a blue whale because they're beautiful and incredible animals.
- right now i'm infatuated with banana bread x) i actually have some homemade in my kitchen right now!

hi jd! yes that's me in my avvy hehe thank you very much i'm flattered .
i personally like writing more because when i read i feel the need to critique/comment on EVERYTHING xD it becomes a pain and is so time-consuming.

~ oh well i definately have a bunch of favorites but i LOVELOVELOVE studio ghibli films - hayao miyazaki's films in particular <3
~ author hopefully! i just don't want to be living on the streets in a box hahaa
~ either or! whichever i'm in the mood for
~ i'm going to say my 'favorite author' is ellen hopkins because i run to the bookstore the day her books come out haha i love her books and her style
~ i actually haven't been able to go out bookshopping lately but the book i've bought most recently is haunted by chuck palahniuk
