Hey! My name's Becki and (obviously) I'm new here. I found out about this site from WriYe (which I heard about from NaNo) and thought it sounded really cool. It reminds me a lot of fanfiction (dot) net, except a lot cooler since it's for original fiction! I haven't been writing seriously for very long, but I absolutely love it and plan to stick with it. This seems like a great place to improve my writing and I'm excited to be here! :D

Haha, but a special newbie all the same! :D

As long as you love it, that's all that matters. :) I've never been to fanfiction.net (nothing personal... I just am so out of loop with popular culture that writing fanfiction other than Looney Tunes fanfics is weird for me) but I think I heard from our other members that our critiques are a little more... er... thorough, so hopefully that'll help you! Just a head's up. ;)

Also! You should join my group! We're taking over YWS with awesomeness. And yeah. Lots of awesometude there... trust me.

You can join here: viewgroup.php?f=333 :)

Sure! The group sounds fun!

And yeah, the reviews here are definitely more thorough than over at fanfiction. I was looking over some reviews for other stories here and they were definitely a lot more detailed and full of awesome advice. Over at fanfiction the typical review is "that waz good!!!" Not even joking... I think I'm going to like this site a lot better! ^^

Yeah, I agree with you about the reviews. I am glad I found a spot where people actually help me, and in turn I can help them.

So! Welcome!
There are tons of other things to do on the site, too! Like groups, as Snoink said, and the chat room, you can almost always find me there, so go in and say hello!

Hey Becki!
First thing's first, tell us about yourself.
What do you like to write?
What's your favorite movie/band/color/book?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
If you had one wish to be granted, what would you ask for? (Besides silly things like more wishes)
and I second Snoink's reccomendation-- her usergroup is fantastic. Join us, please. We would love to hear from you.
xxooxx
Hope to see you around!

Well, I like to wrie pretty much anything, but I especially love anything with a fairytale element. (Urban) fantasy and adventure are the runners up.

My favorite movies are Garden State and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. My favorite band is Marianas Trench. My favorite color is purple. And my favorite series (since I can't just pick one book from it) is the Ice Wolf Trilogy.

I want to be a forensic anthropologist, journalist, general practitioner, CEO of a large and prosperous company (Yay! Lots of money!), lawyer, or an author (of course! ).

Um, with one wish I would want... um... a high paying job having something to do with fairytales (i.e. translating them, writing them (!), etc.).

And as an added bonus... I love any and all things peanut butter-y!!! Peanut butter is THE best food in the entire world, hands down. And the creator of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup is a genius!

It's true tigress... recess has the perfect chocolate-to-peanut butter ratio. Other peanut butter-chocolate candies just aren't the same.

we have almost all the same jobs that we want. I want to be either a DA, a writer, a supreme court justice, a ceo or an immersion journalist.
Or supreme evil empress of the universe but I'm told that's a bit of a stretch.
Do you like Monty Python's Life of Brian? I haven't watched it but my dad listens to Python radio, and they have excerpts of it... it sounds pretty hilarious.
Apparently Holy Grail is big in the united states while Life of Brian is big in the UK.

Your wish was pretty superb-- I would have wasted it on something terrible. You chose a rewarding career-- good job.
My favorite color is purple too. Other than rainbow, which doesn't count. :smt001
Anyways, you sound really awesome :smt003 I really enjoyed your spin on sleeping beauty. Awaiting more of your work to grace the yws forums!

Hey there! Welcome to YWS.

It's great that you actually *like* thorough critiques, it makes everything so much better! Constructive criticism for the win, eh? :D

Monty Python is amazing! As Empress said, the Life of Brian is pretty big here in the UK. You should watch it sometime, unless you already have. I've seen the Holy Grail too; pretty awesome but not the same.

So, how are you finding YWS so far? Anything I can help you with? If not, then have a wonderful day and I hope to see you around sometime!

*high fives*
