Lavinia:

"Peter, dear, are you going to get ready, we have but an hour left before the party..." Lavinia said as she breezed into the parlour. Elle had just finished her bath and as she stepped into the room everyone turned towards her. She had such an odd aura. A sort of sickeningly sweet smell mixed with a musty moth ball one. It did strangely attract.

"Clara, what on earth is that? Did you borrow that from a serving maid? You can have every dress in the world... Elle, help her choose one please." Lavinia swept her eyes across the room.

"Oh... Peter, I need to see you for a moment." Peter jumped up and quickly followed her into her study. She uncovered a cage and revealed four beautiful butterflies. "These are for you, they're your... gift. They will be your eyes and ears, they will allow you to be in more places at once. Try them out." When she opened the cage door, the beautiful creatures flocked around around Peter. "Send them out to listen into Elle and Clara."

Peter whispered the instructions to the creatures. They flew off without hesitation. Moments later, he could hear in his mind the voices of his two sisters.

"I'm not kidding, she really did give me a potion to make me..."
"As if you're not attractive enough already Elle, honestly..."

Peter smiled contentedly.

"Be careful Peter, they will understand things the same way you do, so sometimes the things people say aren't always true... be careful with them."

Peter nodded and exited the room, the small cage in his hand.

Peter

With the cage in his hand, he couldn't help but smile. This gift would do wonders for Peter. As he passed through the parlour Clara and Elle paused their conversation.

"What do you have there?" Clara inquired, a hint of jealousy in her voice.

"Nothing of concern to you," he said as he continued out of the room.

Once in his own bedroom he placed the cage on his desk. "Now let us see what my brothers are up to," he said. "Go check on Nathan and Phelix."

Soon enough Peter could hear his brothers. Phelix was babbling on about something as was his usual and Nathan would only throw in a malicious comment every so often. Finding himself nearly put to sleep by his brothers he instructed the butterflies to return and changed his clothes again for the party. He needed to look his absolute best.

Phelix:

I stood still, and gazed around my knew room. It was lush, warm, and a scented candle made my nose tingle with pleasure. A large bed was at the far end, next to a large window that let in silver moonlight. It was empty except for a closet and a large fan. I walked over to the mirror and gazed at myself. I was wearing a black tuxedo. My hair was wet, fresh from my shower. My eyes were bright with life, and I flashed a smile. A faint pinch of pain ached in my head. I closed my eyes.

After the spinning sensation left, i opened my eyes. I was in a room with the rest of my siblings, or most of them. Two girls sat on a large red couch as two- butterflies fluttered around their heads. I strode forward to them.

*Are we all going to get awesome, super-cool gifts like that? And, um, infinite reality? It says that this takes place in the turn of the century (I'm assuming 1900s). Did they have showers back then?*

Clara

Clara watched Peter leave the roof. She turned back to Elle. "Since when is he so high-and-mighty?"

"Clara."

Clara spun around. "Yes, Lavinia?" she said innocently. Lavinia raised an eyebrow and pursed her lips.

"You are still in that awful dress."

Clara glanced down at what she was wearing. Honestly, why was her fashion the topic of everyone's concern? It was beginning to irritate her.

Elle watched this entire exchange from the corner. Clara glanced at her before turning back to Lavinia. "I am sorry."

Lavinia watched her for a moment. "Come back to me when you are properly prepared for tonight."

Clara glanced at the bookshelf wistfully. "Yes, of course."

Lavinia nodded to her and to Elle and then ducked back into her study. Clara retreated into her room. She opened up her wardrobe. Two sharp intakes of breath sounded. Clara turned. Elle had followed Clara into her room.

Clara turned back to the wardrobe, awed. Fantastic pieces in purples, blues, and greens awaited Clara. She reached out to touch a marvelous silk piece in a rich green.

Clara turned back to Elle, who nodded in approval. Clara pulled out the dress slowly, and crossed to go behind the changing screen to change into the dress.

Clara changed quickly and crossed the room again to inspect herself in the mirror.

Elle nodded again. Clara walked out of the room slowly. She spotted Phelix standing in the center of the parlour. She stepped up.

"Good evening."

*Eep, sorry for not being here sooner! But I'm here now (: Woot! There wasn't a certain way we were to write, correct? I'm going with first person*

Annibella

I paced in front of my closet, desperate to find the proper outfit. Of course, every article of clothing I owned was beyond beautiful, but I just couldn't seem to decide. It wasn't that I wanted to make a good impression on everyone else - I don't believe in impressions by appearance - but I knew how displeased my family would be if I wasn't dressed appropriately.

With a loud groan, I feel backwards onto the mattress.

"What are you doing?" one of the others called from the doorway. I tilted my head to see who it was.

*I'm running out of time [in school], so I'll leave this open. Sorry it's so short, I promise they'll get better. By the way, I'm more than willing to take on a second character, if no one else wants to take the place of lying (: *

Elle:

Annibelle fell onto the bed and landed with a large grunt. It was so improper. I could see that the amazing gold dress on the far right would make her eyes shimmer, but obviously she was incapable of seeing such things.

"What are you doing?" I called out, "It's nearly time to leave." With those sharp words spoken, I turned on my perfect blood red heel and strode downstairs to where Lavinia was waiting. A few others came in and I admired various aspects of their looks, deciding which one I would like on myself the best. For the moment though, I was content.

Peter

With butterflies nearby, Peter strode into the parlour where the rest of his family was waiting. He was pleased to have recieved such a beneficial gift right before the party.

He stood beside a high backed chair where he rested his arm. He noticed Elle looking over everyone present, certainly coming up with several degrading comments on each person's appearace as she always believed she was the most beautiful.

Lavinia began to appear annoyed with how long it was taking the other siblings and would walk to the bottom of the stairs from time to time and call up to someone. This time Annibella was her target.

"Annibella, bring yourself down here this instant. We do not want to arrive late and leave the entire family with a bad reputation now do we?" she said.

Peter rolled his eyes. Annibella was never one for appearances.

Annibella

Crinkling my nose as Elle strode down the hallway, I pushed myself into a sitting position. I never told them, but my family had the tendency to be rather...rude. Though, I suppose, any family is better than none at all, which is what I had before...I think. I don't actually remember for certain.

""Annibella, bring yourself down here this instant. We do not want to arrive late and leave the entire family with a bad reputation now do we?" Lavinia called from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'm coming!" I called back, careful to hide my irritation. It wouldn't be proper to show anger towards the woman who was so kind to provide me with more than necessary for my survival.

Staring intently at my closet, I took a deep breath. With that breath, the light of my room caught the golden dress, causing it to shimmer. I smiled, getting to my feet. However, upon removing the golden dress from the closet, I revealed an article of clothing I couldn't remember owning. It was a dress of deep blue, nearly black, embellished with silver. Smiling, I slipped it on.

My hairs natural curl made special occasions all too easy; I pulled it up with a dark blue ribbon, tying it carefully so the bow didn't show. A few curls were left out, to frame my face. With a final glance in the mirror, and the addition of a small silver chain to my neck, I hurried down the stairs after the others.
