Hi, kinda new here around YWS. Levan is not exactly my real name, so to speak, and my first name is Christer. I'm sixteen years old, a Junior currently in High School, and I live in the Philippines. I've started writing around a few months ago, then I've been trying to improve myself ever since.

I saw this website and I was quite fascinated in joining it. Meeting fellow writer-wannabees(like me!) and experts would really be an enjoyable experience, especially for me.

Honestly though I'm more of a writer than a reader... I guess that's pretty bad, isn't it? =/

I actually prefer fan fictions over novels, but I still read some novels once in a while. Some of the more intriguing ones I read were Deception Point by Dan Brown and The Host by Stephenie Meyer. The first isn't actually Dan Brown's best work, but I found the story more compelling than all his other books. The latter brings out a story of survival, which in turn, is a type of genre(though I wouldn't necessarily call it a genre, but it does seem to be) that is pretty difficult to find at times, but is a very fun read in my opinion.

For fan fictions, well, looking at my avatar should speak for itself.

Hmm... I wonder if there are other Filipinos like me here?

I did some reviews for a guy called nevermore a while back. I'm pretty sure he was Fillipino. Haven't seen him around in a while though, so he might not be on anymore.

I used to be like that. I thought time reading was time that could be spent writing. But reading is crucial, and it's really fun once you get into it. I haven't read either of the books you mentioned, but I love the "survival" genre. My favourite is The Hunger Games.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing but a lot of people have told me that if you read more you will be a better writer. I personally love to read but that's just me.
So what genre do you like to write in?

Thanks again for the welcome. Actually, I've seen quite a number of Filipinos posting their stories as well, and it kind of made me happy that I'm not the only one here.

I personally love to write in Romance, though what I would really love to learn is how to write Horror. For me, horror is the type of fiction that's insanely hard to write, but usually pays off at the end, bringing in the reader's psychological fears to the test. I wonder if I could ever master this type of genre. =/
