Hey there!

Hey everyone, I'm Kayem. I live in England and I'm 14 years old. Believe it or not I quite like writing. I'm in the planning stages of a novel, but I've never been very good at finishing things, so who knows how far I'll actually get with that. I've joined so that I can get feedback on it when I've actually written some. I also enjoy reading - I'm much better at finishing books than finishing things I'm writing.

That's enough about me, I'd love to meet some of you.

I live in England too! Depressing 'cause of the rain, so many people on here live in America in the sun.

First, a couple of rules we have here.
1) the 2:1 ratio, if you post some writing you have to do two reviews for it. Keep it all flowing.
2) dnt spk lyk dis OR LIKE THIS. It is a writers forum.
3) rate your work, pg-13 for swearing. R for sexual content or swearwords. Just so people know what they're getting into.

And, back to you!
What genre is the novel you're writing? Or planning to write! I would stick with it, if you want a specialized review then PM one of the instructors (with purple names) and they will give you the best.
What genre do you read? Who are your favourite authors?
If you went to a desert island what three books would you take? what 2 random items would you take and what would you eat and drink for the rest of your time. (bwa ha ha)

Hi Aqua, thanks for the warm welcome.

Those are some tricky questions you've got there. The novel is fantasy? I think. I'm never really sure with these things, especially as I'm still changing little bits of the plot. At the moment I'm fairly sure it's fantasy.

I like to read realistic fiction, historical fiction, and fantasy, but I do occasionally read other things.

I don't really have favourite authors, I don't tend to choose books because of who wrote them. If I read something I enjoy, I won't particularly look for other things by the same author, and if I saw something written by someone who wrote a book I enjoyed, I won't assume that I will enjoy that too. That's just not the way I think about books. I couldn't tell you my favourite books either - I'd have to list way too many.

If I had to take three to a desert island, I would take all the really thick ones that I own, and pick three out randomly. As for random items, I would take a teddy bear, and a really fat notebook, because I keep a diary. I would eat coco pops, because I love them, and I would drink orange Fanta, even though it would probably rot my teeth.

Hey, Kayem! Around this website you will be seeing members of several different colors. They are Regular Members, Greeters, Instructors, Junior Moderators, Moderators, and Adminstrators. Here's what they all mean.

Regular Members - People like you & me, with no special skills.

Greeters - Members most active in the welcome forum, who specialize in making new members feel welcome.

Instructors - Members dedicated to reviewing works and helping people get better at their writing by writing long and in-depth critiques, and who publish writing tips.

Junior Moderators - Members responsible for the upkeep of boards, who can lock, move threads and also have other special powers. However, they only control one board.

Moderators - Like Junior Moderators, but responsible for a whole section of boards.

Adminstrators - Responsible for the general upkeep and managment of the website.

You like fantasy? Me too. I sometimes read realistic fiction, but it has to be really 'moving', or have a very specific plot. I can't think of any historical fiction I've read that doesn't somehow involve fantasy, but I know I'd love it if it didn't.

You're like me: I'm definitley better at finishing books than anything I've started writing! And when you say you love writing, I think everyone on this site will believe you!

Fantasy is an amazing genre. ^-^ I love being able to create a world and make it come to life. Of course, that's the same with any type of writing work, but I feel much more connected with the genre myself. lol But your novel will probably be amazing no matter genre. ^-^ Just remember that with each word you get closer to the end of the story. Don't deviate from the writing path and I'm sure you'll have no problem with finishing it up.

~If you could meet anyone from the past, present, or literary world, who would you meet?

~ I found this site through the young writers group that I go to. We had a list of websites that would help our writing and I thought this one looked good.
~ I cannot think of who I would want to meet, and I have been thinking for half an hour, so I give up.
~ I would compare myself to a chest of drawers, because I keep a lot of things hidden inside.
~ My favourite food is Coco Pops. I know that's a bit random but they are soooo nice. I eat three bowls a day most days.
