Shifting Times

Layton leaned her body against Chevy, a smile obvious in her blue eyes even though she couldn't show it in her current form. She rubbed her head against his shoulder lightly before darting ahead of the group and turning towards the river.

Tanner raised his lips up in the best smile he could muster and smiled as Leal laughed mentally. Missed you. He smiled at her, licking the side of her face before skidding to a stop at a long drop-off with water below it. His back legs slid off and he gulped, digging his front claws into the hard soil and pulling himself back up. All three of them were laughing mentally and Tanner snorted, shaking his head. He just humiliated himself within ten minutes of being with Leal... that was a new record. Last time he managed to make himself look stupid within two hourse.

Leal smiled and walked over to Tanner rubbing her head against him and then laying down next to him.

We gotta get somewhere that our family can't follow. Dad'll sick our brothers on us soon. Chevy said.

Layton and Tanner sighed in usion, both sending each other mental images, until finally they both smiled. Have you guys ever tried swimming in the ocean? Like, until you reach another bit of land? Tanner and I did that over Christmas Break to get to the Bahamas because my parents wouldn't let us go on the cruise. The best part of it all, is that nobody can track you and all we have to do is have my parents send money to one of their friends, who'll give it to us in their own currency! After all this blows over we can come back and stuff, but still! Think about it! She sent all three mental images of Paris, Mulan, the Bahamas, and everywhere else she and Tanner had went.

Leal bit her lower lip.

I wanna go! She said moving close to Tanner.

Looks good to me. Chevy nodded. Let's go!

Okay, closest ocean is the Pacific, and we'll either have to head South or West. What should we do Tanner? Layton turned to Tanner, who seemed to be in thought.

I say we go through California, call up our parents so they're not worried or angered even more, and then head where ever. Layton nodded in agreement and turned back to Chevy and Leal.

That okay with you guys? If it is, then I suggest we transform into pergrine falcons. Faster, and not as odd as a cheetah or something foreign like that.

Leal shifted along with Chevy and they took off into the air waiting for the others to catch up.
