Hey, I'm new =)

Hey, my name is Andy, I'm from Miami and I'm new! I'm 16 and I recently discovered my love of writing(during Journalism class). I was uncomfortable with the classmates (I still hate my staff) and the fact that I was Newspaper editor and a Yearbook assistant editor at the same time with an impossible team. But through the middle of the second quarter I found myself in free-periods jotting down ideas for a story rather than listening to my ipod or chatting. I love it and I've started writing a teen-fiction novel. I have about 15,000 words within 4 1/2 chapters so far. My avid reader friends like it and my teachers claim that I have potential to do wonders.(I don't know if I'm really that good .....I got only a 4.7 on the FCAT >3)

Anyways....... what are you guys like? =)

I'm not much of a hand at novel-writing apparently. I don't have the persistence or the patience. I've tried at least three times and never gotten very far. I actually mostly write poetry right now, which I never thought I'd do. I used to hate poetry with a passion, mostly because of my English Lit class. I'm no good at the kind of poetry interpreting that they want you to do.
By the way, before you post any of your work, you need to write two reviews, and also keep your reviews versus works-posted at a 2:1 ratio.
A very helpful thing to check out is the FAQ.

I know it might seem a little overwhelming at first, but this really is a fabulous place:) If you have any questions, just shoot me a PM or something.

Oh, and of course if you ever Ever want a review (I major in poetry, but anything is fine), I'd be very happy to:D

Geep! That's a lot of words! In any case, I don't think you can judge potential. It's hard work in the end that really matters. Because let's face it: you might be a great writer, but if you can't take criticism and work to improve your weaknesses, you suck. Since you seem to be capable of working hard, you'll do fine.

That sounds great. I like to write novels, too; I've written two so far. But I very much disliked the first one. I'm posting the second one here and I like it better than the 1st.

I tend to write things down as they come along too. I usually steal a paper and pencil from a friend around me though when I don't have supplies.
