Not another intro thread

I'm a member of plenty of message boards. The intro posts are always so weird. I was referred here by someone from gaiaonline.

I've kept a journal since I was about 8 and I write fiction casually. I'm constantly struggling not to take myself to seriously. This place seems amazing. Who knew?

Intro posts are always a little awkward, don't worry. I felt the same way when I discovered this place - it really is the internet's best-kept secret! Who knew? I never imagined that there was such a big community of teenage writers.

It's funny you say that about taking yourself too seriously. My dad told me that I take myself too seriously sometimes, and I think he's right. Even the little things like trying to set more realistic goals - they help a lot, writing-wise.

Anyway, I bet you'll have a blast. I can't wait to read some of your stuff - what do you like to write?

Hehe, I know! I hate writing them because, in the end, it's like, "Look at me, I look awkward!" And then you get people coming in to read all this awkwardness and you just want to curl up and become nothing.

Usually, I like [s]killing[/s] critiquing a piece before I even begin, lol. But whatever.

Anyway, don't worry! At least the awkwardness is over!

That might've been me. I've given a few people there this link. (Usually when they're complaining about the relatively low standards of the Writers' Forum on Gaia.)

Either way, welcome to YWS. (I always have an issue with intro posts, myself. It's a weird feeling.)
