Secret Santa 2025: Sign-Ups

Hello everyone! Once again, we are hosting Secret Santa for the community to participate in! If you don't know what that is, Secret Santa is an event where participants fill out a form with their interests and after some time, the host will put all the names of the participants into a "hat" and start assigning people an anonymous (Secret) Santa! The Secret Santa will use the form to create a gift for their recipient and they will send it to me, and I will send it to the recipient for them. After everyone has received their gifts, then the Santas will be allowed to come forward and reveal themselves. It's all very fun and exciting and I hope you all will consider joining in!


Before we begin, there are some rules that must be stated. Violation of these rules will result in your disqualification from the event so please do your absolute best to follow them.

01: You are to keep the name of your recipient anonymous. Please do not reveal who you got to anyone. When I announce in this thread that the event is over, I will also state that members can reveal themselves to their recipients if they wish to, but until then, please keep it anonymous.

02: Please do not join this event if you cannot commit to providing a gift for your recipient. If you know you are going to be super busy this holiday and will not have a free night where you can sit down and create a gift, then please don't join.

However, I understand that life happens and that things can happen unintentionally. We have Elves that will be ready to fulfill any missing gifts once the deadline has occurred, so if you end up entirely unable to fulfill your gift, then your recipient will still be covered.

If you still plan on doing your gift but need more time, PM me right away.

03: All gifts must be handmade and cannot involve any sort of off-site transaction, such as shipping addresses or emails. You may create physical gifts, such as a drawing, and take a picture for your recipient. You may also gift recordings of yourself playing a song, reading a poem, etc.

Remember that all gifts must be sent to me so that I may send them out anonymously.

04: Please do your absolute best to create a gift for your recipient based on the interests they listed in their Secret Santa form. You don't have to be the most talented artist ever, but it will definitely be noticeable if you try your hardest. Your gift can including writing, singing, drawing, painting, collages, gifs, videos, etc.

If you feel that your recipient's form isn't very informative, then you are allowed to snoop around their profile and see what else you can find. If you are familiar with them then you can talk casually with them, but don't make them suspicious!

I believe that's everything important. Basically, keep yourself anonymous and get creative with your gift. I promise that you will have a good time!

Favorite Artists, Bands, etc Although I listen to country not too infrequently, my favorite band is definitely Citizen Solidier. I have been a solid listener for over 4 years and have some of their lyrics on my wall at home.
Favorite TV shows/movies Big Hero 6. And Im obsessed with it. I drew a concept for a bumper sticker from it and painted three rocks of BayMax for my fellow stressed out nurses. And Ill also mention Inside Out because that one I enjoyed too.
Favorite books? umm..I dont read enough to know.
Preferred gift? I love quotes, drawings etc. Anything you can create sounds awesome to me!

About Me: I'm a young adult guy who's just experiencing college. Poetry is my passion and biology is my calling. A bit of a nerd, still struggling academically in this pool of scholars recently lol. I haven't developed any cool talents or hobbies alas, but I do like to paint or draw like a mid-schooler and sing horribly when I want a break from writing. I'm an avid fan of web series- an interest I picked up rather recently. In real life, I'm a lot reserved with only a few friends I genuinely connect with. Being a closeted gay doesn't help my non-existent social life either.
Color Preferences: Since forever, it's been blue. But for some reason, red looks particularly appealing these days. Just pick a nice shade and it'll work just fine! A light yellow shall do great as well.
Where do you spend most of your time on YWS?: I think it'd have to be the People's tab. Though I'm not much active there anymore, it used to be a homely respite not too long ago. The Green Room would come to a close second though, as I used to scan it a lot for works I genuinely liked and believed could help the author with a feedback.
Favorite Artists, Bands, Songs, etc.: I don't follow much bands or singers regularly, I'm afraid. But I do like a lot of songs from artists like Shawn Mendes, Alan Walker and Sabrina Carpentar. My recent particular favourites are- Constellations and Mystery of Love. The Hindi/Urdu pick would be Maand. Pakistan's coke studio is undisputedly majestic. I loved songs like Jhol, Pasoori and Tu Jhoom.
Favorite TV Shows, Movies, Plays, etc.: Reign is definitely my all time favorite web series. It got me interested in English history (even if itself inaccurate). The drama really kept me hooked and it was the 'one I had been searching for all my life. The fictional politics with all the thrill- oh, the excellence. Elite and My life with the Walter boys are a close second. I've also watched Riverdale, TSITP, HTGAWM, The Diplomat and liked all of them good enough. The favourite movie is Call me by your name, like I was never the same after watching it.
Favorite Books, Authors, Fandoms, etc.: Not much of a reader, but I do like Harry Potter fairly. Hunger games as well, the switched gender stereotypes were a breath of fresh air. I haven't read either though, just seen the movies.
Preferred Type of Gift: Poems, images, songs- anything that reflects efforts and love! I do like the idea of something to do with any of my favourite characters though. If you've seen someone as my avatar, that's a genius idea to pick. Some of the other characters I'm obsessed with- Hermione Lodge (Riverdale), Carla (Elite), Ayanokoji (Classroom of Elite), Alex (My life with Walter boys) and Cameron (TSITP). From something I watched recently, Susan and Prince of Caspian in Narnia were a couple who deserved so much more screentime.
What do you NOT want to get?: Anything too intelligent for me to genuinely appreciate. I'm a little clueless so you might want to keep that in mind. Nothing too serious about my sexuality please, and it'd be better if you didn't use the harry potter theme as I've grown out of that fandom a little. For My life with the Walter boys, I'm team Alex so maybe nothing Jackie X Cole but I'm not TOO against it.
Other: I understand I can be a difficult person to gift but hey, it's the gesture that counts! Let's celebrate the holiday spirit with love and warmth. Anything you can come up with, I will truly hold dear.

Hi! I'm Snoink. I live in America! I'm stupidly Catholic to the point where I have a handpainted icon of the Last Supper in my dining room, lol. (Religious art is a big thing to me.) I love pigs with an undying love and also swans... pigs because they are amazing in every way and swans because they are the most elegant jerks in the world and I adore them for that. I love writing (I know, big surprise there), crocheting, and birdwatching. I am currently doing the stay-at-home mom gig, though I am also a hay farmer. Weirdly enough, I also have a biochemical engineering degree, since I love science and math perhaps a little too much, hahaha. As far as goals? Working on publishing a novel!

Inferno by Larry Niven and The Eighth Arrow I found delightful, though I don't actually like the original by Dante? GO FIGURE.

Honestly, I love visual art and I'm not very good at it, so anything like drawing and collages and stuff would probably really impress me.
