Image

2025 is coming to a close as 2026 is close on the horizon. New years can become like a new start for us. It is this chance to examine who we are and where we have been. There is such a beauty in the fact that we are always changing always in motion. So how do you want to make a change this year? What in your life do you love? What do you wish you had in more abundance? What new things do you want to try? Here is a place you can share all your goals and aspirations for the new year!

Feel free to make a post below with all your new years resolutions. can't wait to see what everyone has to say!

If you don't have any ideas feel free to search the old form to see what others have said before here
that the powerful play goes on
And you may contribute a verse

If you ever need to talk I am here for you<3

Ahh!!! New Years!!! 2025 really came and went with a blink of the eye. Truthfully, I failed at 4/5 of my New Years Resolutions for 2025, but let me not be discouraged! Instead, I will make more reasonable goals for 2026. This is a WIP list ;P

›› Read 8 books from current tbr list
›› Develop healthier habits, primarily related to food and movement
›› Finish main house projects
›› Beat the Enderdragon in Minecraft (sigh...)
›› Study all 4 of the gospels in the Bible

I'll get around to these.

-> read more / write more / review more
-> publishing something, perhaps a poem
-> social media cleanse / decrease my screen time
-> declutter
-> decorate my new house (!!!)
-> start a garden

In no particular order...

- Start writing more consistently again (sadly writing has been pushed to the side by other hobbies).
- Move my body more.

(I may add more later as it comes to me, since I know there's already one thing I've forgotten that I was going to add to the list!)

I don't typically do New Year's Resolutions because I am not good at following through with them >_> BUT I want to be better about that this year, and it's a good way to set realistic goals. So, here are my two goals:

1) Read more. I have gotten back into reading and it's been great but I haven't been reading nearly as much as I'd like to and I want to change that, so I'm gonna aim to read at least 2 books a month, so 24 books total by the end of 2026! And extra books read in a month do NOT count towards my final tally -- it must be 2 books for each month.

2) Cook more. I have a bad habit of repeating the same handful of meals at home, and then getting bored of them, which leads to me eating out too often... I have a slow cooker I barely use and that needs to change. I need to start cooking more and trying more recipes at home. I would like to try at least 1 new recipe a month... maybe something I've seen on Tiktok and went yummm but never tried making, I don't know, but time to figure it out! Baby steps...

Here's hoping this works out >_>

- Be more physically active. My hope is that adopting a puppy and taking her on walks will help with this :3
- See a demo release for at least one of the two video games I'm working on
- Finish my current sketchbook and start a new one
- Launch my art website??? maybeeee??

2026 new year resolutions

Here's a link to my 2025 resolutions, which I did abysmally on... but 2024 was so busy / full with getting married and getting a new house, that is probably really okay. The one big resolution I did do in 2025 was visiting a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, which lived up to the hype and was a big bucket list item to finally check off, also did good with gardening and walking... here's some resolutions for 2026...

HOBBIES
> Continue to be active on YWS (especially NaPo + NaPoWeek)
> Finish Crocheting 2nd Blanket
> Submit at least 3 poems to publication opportunities
> Continue to be active with COOP zine work
> Practice musical instruments more actively
> Get my piano tuned
> Complete a scrapbooking project
> Make serious progress on at least 1 long term poetry project
> Finish my ancestry book thing !! that's a stretch
> Do a bigger painting project of some sort

GROWTH
> Connect w/ my grandfather through letter or visit
> Meet more regularly w/ my friends for coffee
> Do another walking challenge in the summer / spring (or both!)
> Write and record a new song (or two or three)
> Maybe try growing a new vegetable or herb this Summer?
> Organize old poems so they are more easily navigable and safe from being lost!
> Lead 2 Bible Studies in 2026 (& maybe start up a new small group at my church in late winter)
> Restart some sort of regular journaling habit for mental wellbeing + processing

ADVENTURE
> Maybe go to another play or concert ~ or a couple!
> Go on some sort of ancestry destination field trip; maybe seeing my paternal grandparents home-town
> re-decorating our spare bedroom and fire-place room to be more functional and beautiful.

VAGUE / LIFESTYLE
be gentler to myself and others, be hopeful, be faithful, be peaceful
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return
