I know the article says "Yanny", but I definitely hear "Yammy".

I've heard both, depending on what I'm listening for. If you say the word Laurel along to it, you can hear Laurel, and if you say the word Yanny (or Yammy), you can hear Yanny/Yammy.

Actually, it's both! Depending on how high or low the audio is, you will either hear "Laurel" or "Yanny". Peoples ears often perceive sound slightly differently then others, and what you hear depends on whether or not your ears perceive lower sounds or higher sounds easier. I personally year Yanny!
