I like how you considered making this Valentine's Day themed, but instead chose the topic to be about murder lol

Spoiler
i'd be disappointed if he had actually gone with a modern valentine's day theme, whereas murder is probably pretty close to the martyr named saint valentine. or you know, the massacre. thanks al capone for everything.

Dang it, my story ended up being 760 words. Looks like I'll have to chop some of it off.

@snowmonkey9: That's fine! If you feel like shortening it would compromise the story, you could still definitely post it with a word count of 760. I don't mind if the word count is a little over the limit, in part because I write some long(ish) stories myself. Same applies for anyone else who wants to enter, though I likely won't accept anything at or beyond 900-1,000 words (sorry about that).

And yep, I went from Valentine's Day to murder. XD

Sounds like a messy breakup. :P
We're all stories in the end.

Is 880 words okay? I know that's long, but I really like the story as-is and I'm not sure if I can cut down much more. ;-; (It's already down from 1100.)

Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.
