Maze Runner (book)

The Maze Runner movie is coming out soon. They've been advertising it a lot (a bad sign?), and even though it's yet another dystopian film, it does look interesting.

However, I never even heard of the book until a week ago. Has anyone here read it? Any good?

I absolutely loved that book, and the rest of the series xD Though, it is pointed at my generation. It was enjoyable, and I look forward to the movie (let's hope they don't butcher it.) When I picked it up, I literally didn't put it down until it was finished, which also includes missing a meal.

The Maze Runner is one of my all time favorite books (behind the Harry Potter series of course :3). I think my favorite part about it is that you have no idea what's going to happen next. Even when you think you know, you're wrong. It's also not like other dystopian novels in the sense that you don't know what's going on in the outside world. So you're just as confused as the characters. All you know is that they're stuck in this place that has a maze and there's no way out.

Some people have argued that there isn't enough character development in the novel and that the characters are inconsistent. I didn't notice it, but that could just be because I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't recognize anything else going on.

I am a lover of YA novels so these are the kinds of books I read. It can be directed to a younger age group at times, but overall the story is pretty intense and can get heavy at times.

The first one is about average but it gets better. Definetly worth reading!

I'm in the middle of the first one right now but I also have looooads to read for English. It is INFURIATING

They give away as little as possible at each moment, so that the suspense can haunt you until you finish the books.

I read the 1st book earlier this year, at the recommendation of @AfterTheStorm

It was alright. Sort of like Lord of the Flies mixed with sci-fi. Sort of disappointing that it's not just a single book though. I have the two other books of the trilogy on my shelf, but it's far behind on the to-read list now.
