I blinked, surprised at the different attitude that Sola had compared to the others. "Thanks, Sola," I said, and I meant it. "I don't really have much of a story though. I grew up here with my parents, adoptive parents." Qali looked away as I said this. Maybe my suspicions about her and Blakely wasn't all wrong? "I've never met any other shifters. I knew there was something weird about you, but I didn't know what until I saw Hayden shift earlier tonight." Some of the others glared at him. I probably shouldn't have said that.

I didn't want to say or do anything that Haven wouldn't approve of, and he definitely wouldn't like this, but on the other hand I felt that I could relate to Eric. I was probably adopted too, and before I met Haven I had never met another shifter. I knew how it felt to be all alone.
I could feel Alaska glaring at me. "What!?" I snapped. I knew she hated me, she hated most people, but I wasn't intending to just stand and take it. "You're not the only one worthy of an opinion in this pack.. And besides, if he's in the pack then we can keep an eye on him."
