One person will give a simplistic, realistic story that has/can actually happen. The next person will try to stretch the truth as much as they can so that their story is nothing compared to the realistic story the previous person gave. Then the second person will give another realistic story for the next person.
Spoiler
Person 1: My friend bought a ring yesterday from a dispenser at the grocery store.
Person 2: So yesterday, my friend was at the mall. And she was just shopping, looking for whatever she needed. For lunch, she ate at the food court, and she got a milkshake and burger at Dairy Queen. Well, as she was eating, you know how you usually get a cherry in a milkshake? Well, she got this really cute gold ring with a red jewel on it (I think it was a ruby.). A minute later, her boyfriend showed up. It was so adorable.
My dog died last night.

So, let's see if any of our lies turn out to have monsters or long noses!

I got a bad haircut today. I could tell by their faces that my friends didn't approve of it either.
