All characters like to buy things but what they buy (and how much money they have available) can be essential to defining who they are. So queue up, browse the wares and let our stall keeper Jose (pronounced Hoe-zay) know what you'd like.
Jose: Greetings my good fellow, what can I do for you?

Charlotte: Good evening, Jose! Have you got any pastry dough? I keep running out with all the pies I make. And do you have any chopsticks? I just love to collect them!

-
HEY! One of my characters are Jose. As you can see in the introduction topic, I posted mine FIRST.
Gloria: Shopping! Yeah. -
Lol. Jose is from an old story of mine and he fits snugly here =)
Jose: You look absolutely dashing today, Charlotte. I'll have those items ready in no time and could I interest you in this small bottle of perfume? Free of charge naturally. Oh and hello there, Gloria, lovely to see you. Anything catch your eye? Pretty bracelet for a pretty girl, yes? -
*Elizabeth and Daniel walk through*
Elizabeth: I don't have a lot of money, but I think I'll be able to get something.
Daniel: Yeah. It's nice to get free food and stuff in the military, but we sure don't have a lot of spending money.
Elizabeth: No kidding. Well, that's what you get when you take a low risk job. Well, as far as money goes.
*Daniel laughs*
Daniel: Well, I'm just going to trade in this book for a new one. I'm thinking a nice, thick one. They last longer. Plus, they make better pillows.
Elizabeth: Yeah. I'm going to trade in my book too. But I came here to shop for something.
Daniel: Well, we may get free food, but it doesn't taste that great. How 'bout we both pitch in and buy a few steaks?
Elizabeth: Oh, that sounds great.
*walk over to Jose*
Daniel: Four steaks, please. Oh, and we'd like to trade in these books for new ones. Fiction, preferably. And as thick as possible. -
Charlotte: Me? Dashing? *laughs and blushes* Oh.. My! You little tinker, you!
Perfume! How did you know? I've always been rather partial to a little spray now and then. Covers up the food smells, you see. How much for the lot? -
Jose: Four stakes coming right up, I'll get you some nice big juicy ones and feel free to browse through the books, they're just to your right.
That will be a small silver coin, Charlotte or the equivalent in your own money. I've got a machine here that can work it out if you're not sure. And I'll gift wrap that perfume for you *smiles charmingly*
Joe: Jose! There you are... how's the selling going? Made enough money yet?
Jose: Getting there, Joe. Give me a few years more and we'll be ready to go. Take this back for Rose will you? It's that telescope she's been looking for.
Joe: Uh... sure. Well, good luck with the work. -
matt:do you have metal aloid wing gaurds and iron arm gaurds?
-
Jose: Give me a moment, let me see, hmm. Ah here we are, just the trick! Would you like to try them on for size?
-
Gloria: Oh, I'd love a bracelet! And maybe a nice pair of earings with matching sunglasses. Wait, and a necklace that goes with the bracelet... and a couple of rings too. Oh. I know what your thinking. Yes, I can pay for all this. With AMERICAN DOLLARS.
-
Charlotte: Heres's the silver coin. How strange that our currencies are almost the same!?
Ooh! Perfume! Thank you so much, but I couldn't possibly take it. *hands Jose more coins* Take this please... To help with.... whatever it is you need!
*Waves sadly and saunters off, dragging her long red dress behind her* -
Daniel: Thanks. Oh, and I think we have just enough money for some poppy seeds to go on them.
Elizabeth: Poppy seeds?
Daniel: They're seeds from a poppy tree. They're a bit bitter and will counteract the sweetness of the beef.
Elizabeth: Oh. Well, you're the chef. Let's look at books. -
Jose: Then take a look at my finest jewelery, Gloria. I think you'll agree that you've never seen anything quite so beautiful.
Thank you so much, my dear, dear lady. *Waves to Charlotte* Do visit again.
Poppy seeds it is, good sir, and why don't you take these strips of bacon too? They're a little tough but they'll keep you from going hungry. They're free of charge, naturally. -
Gloria: Well the jewelry is pretty, but I have seen better. Hey, I'm thirsty. Can I get a large strawberry banana smoothie with a pink bendy straw? Now?
-
Jose: Immediately my good lady, there you go, lovely isn't it? Does anything else tempt your palette?
