Question of the Week: Week XII

5 posts in this topic.

  1. What is the hardest part about writing for storybooks and/or roleplays?
  2. For both, the thing I struggle the most with staying inspired. If I go long stretches of time without working on a writing project, I almost always struggle to pick it back up. It's usually not as much of a problem with roleplays because of that - roleplays have more frequent posts than storybooks, so the story is more frequently on my mind.
  3. Keeping the plot going and on track, definitely.

Eventually, things’ll slow down for a while and get a bit boring, then they speed up again for a couple of days, then it goes back to being sluggish. Occasionally, too, everyone has to wait a long while for one person to add a post so everyone else just kinda looses steam and we have to pick up again without the immediate familiarity with what’s going on, which is always at least a little difficult.
  4. Trusting that my fellow players will stay motivated. And when they are motivated, trusting that it will last. By the time I hear from them, I may have already moved on, but I come back anyway. We make some more posts. Then it's silent for a few months. Then people show interest again and I hope to God that I can just forget about my investment and keep whatever new thing I've started on alive better than this.

    Yep I have some issues

As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.
