Favorite Line of the Day

13 posts in this topic.

  1. Did you write something awesome? Or funny? Or awesomely funny? Sometimes a line just sticks out and you say to yourself "Ooh... that's good!"

Well, if that's you, post it here!
  2. My favorite for the day is this:
And gods we will be again soon, for there is much of this Earth that needs cleansed and rid of, and isn’t that what the gods and the celestial spirits are most known for?
  3. It feels like I’m breaking the surface of a bottomless, icy ocean. Like the first breath I take is the first breath I’ve ever taken. Like I’m waking up from a dream when I didn’t know I was asleep.
  4. Dear Reader - it seems as though you've stumbled across this book, and now you've got it in your mind to read it. What a shame.
  5. It seemed fresh from what she could assume and it stuck slightly to her clean white shoes. It didn't matter to her because it was like getting dirt or mud on them.
  6. I placed a grape in my mouth, and felt the sweet, flavoursome juices trickling down the back of my throat.
  7. On the walls were aesthetically pleasing paintings that Ace had picked out. Jack didn’t enjoy them that much but if it made his husband happy, then he would have to enjoy it, too.
  8. A bit of serendipity led to a character I really like (even though she won't play much role in the novel) that resulted in this:
“Dewi, I don’t want to hurt you, but I need to know,” Dameon insisted. “Why are you so afraid of the planes?”
She just shook her head, eyes fixed on the plane above. She made a wild grab for the gun, but Dameon blocked her. “Dewi — “
“It’s landing,” she whispered, eyes wide and terrified. “They’ll take me! See the wings? They’ll take me like they took Mama, but I won’t go!”
  9. "We are here on a report by Police Chief Boris," Ace stated as he dug out his badge. When he pulled it out, it was actually a kid's plastic badge. The lead investigator chuckled softly and crossed his arms.
  10. “If we have to shoot them and carry them back, we’ll do it,” he said.

    Context makes it funnier. xD
  11. The man surveyed the bodies around him in the abandoned town, making a scoffing noise. “Looks like you did all of the work for me.”

“Looks like you are a bit scared of me,” she snarked back.
  12. He leaned on her bed and sighed, candlelight dancing across his face so that it created dark shadows underneath his eyes. He certainly was a tired king.
  13. "Wow, he's cute," Meissa giggled.

    "Yeah, he is!" Jill agreed.

Meissa thought for a second. "Not like your boyfriend. He's just gross."

    "HEY!"

A good artist should be isolated. If he isn't isolated, something is wrong.
