This is a forum of just some facts. If you find something interesting please share or something you think everyone who calls them self a Kpop fan should know.

Kpop is not Pop music it stands for Korean Popular Music. My biggest pet peeve is when people say K-rap or K-RnB
it makes me want to chug bleach -
aegyo- means super cuteness
sasaeng- obsessed fan (not a good thing)
daebak- pretty much mean "wow"
oppa- older brother or title you give to an older man (for girls to use)
unnie- older sister or title you give to older woman (for girls to use)
hyung- older brother or title you give to older man (for boys to use)
noona- older sister or title you give to older woman (for boys to use)
sunbae- senior
hoobae- junior
maknae- youngest member of the group
omo- oh my!
chaebol- in Kdramas this is the super rich person
minnat- means bare face
dongan- baby face
chocolate abs- korean male abs -
fan service- doing something for the fans
Ex. holding a baby, kissing another member or pretending to, etc. -
koreaboo- someone who idolizes Korea, thinking is the ultimate paradise, using K-drams and Kpop to create this make belief world. They tend to use Korean words in their day-to-day language, most of the time out of context. Actual Koreans find them offensive and other Kpop fans tend to find them irritating. Being a koreaboo is not a good thing at all. It's important to respect a country. Just because you love Kpop or K-dramas does not mean you're a koreaboo, but if you go to the extremes, to the point you start pretending to be a ethnicity you are not, that's just racist.

It's extremely easy to learn (I learned it in three hours and could read/write moderately fast within a week) and makes reading the Korean lyrics of songs sooooo much easier. The romanization of the words tends to confuse me and others I've met, so investing the short amount of time and effort to learn makes it that much better.
There's also a Korean keyboard that you can learn to use. -
K-pop is an evolving type of music and there is lots of variety under it. Not every song is like PSY's "Gangnam Style" or BTS's "Boy with Luv." Therefore, like every other type of music, it's important to listen to that variety to find what you like.
