    I've come to a major decision after talking to one of my friends who has been looking for publishers. I've decided to not post anymore of The Case of Schadel H. Kueper because it's apparently harder to publish a book if you publish it somewhere else - including online. I'll still keep this club running as a place for me to talk about progress, but I won't be posting any new chapters.

    I hope everyone understands.

    Here's a possible excerpt from The Case of Schadel H. Kueper! ^_^ I just thought of it while taking a shower (showers are wonderful when it comes to coming up with ideas). I'll hopefully include it in at least one of the drafts! ^_^

    There was a tense silence, one that he only dared to broach after the implications of what she had said had fully hit him.

    "Are you sure?"

    Her response was prompt and confident; he didn't doubt her dedication to the dream she had in mind. He didn't want to prevent her from trying to achieve it, but feared that she wouldn't be prepared for what lay ahead of her.

    "I'm sure."

    "You will have to hide the truth."

    "I know."

    "You will have to someday cut the connections you have forged with the humans."

    "I know."

    "You will have to accept their deaths, unless they become a ghost. Even then you will have to ignore the friendships or even love shared between you and them."

    Here she hesitated. Given her history, he wasn't surprised. Death was something neither of them took lightly.

    "I know." She stared at him with a determination he hadn't seen in her eyes for years. It was the determination and defiance he had seen back when they first met, an echo of a time long ago. "I want to follow in your footsteps. And I promised myself after she died that I was going to catch her killer. This is what she would have wanted, and we both know that."

    He mulled over what she had said. "Alright," he finally agreed. "I'll help you."

    I should be asleep by now, but I'm so proud of this that I'm putting it here now.

    That horrifying moment when you see that your club is now on the second page. :P I'm still working on Chapter 2. Life's gotten busy, and I'm having trouble writing it, but I'll get it done soon! Hopefully this weekend is when I'll be able to finish. ^_^

    I've made some good progress on chapter two! I've got some evil plans for future chapters, but for now the events will be relatively calm. Relatively. When you're dealing with a necromancer-for-hire/detective, ghost, and grocery store worker, things are never going to be normal. :P

    I'm unable to participate in NaNoWriMo because I don't have enough time, so instead I've decided to write two chapters per week. Which means you'll be seeing a lot of Schadel and Claire! ^_^ I'm working on the next chapter right now. Be prepared to meet a new character sometime this weekend and to see Schadel (somewhat) in action as the owner of a business!

    I finished the first chapter of The Case of Schadel H. Kueper! ^_^ Because of its length, I thought that it would be a good idea to split it up into two parts. So here they are! ^_^

    The Case of Schadel H. Kueper - Chapter 1 - Part I
    The Case of Schadel H. Kueper - Chapter 1 - Part II

    Also, I have a short summary of the book and a long one. ^_^

    Short Description: Schadel H. Kueper has one foot in the world of the living, and the other in the dead. Liz knows she has a secret, and is determined to find out what.

    Long Description: For as long as she can remember, Elizabeth "Liz" Novelo has been able to see ghosts. She tends to ignore their existence. But when Schadel H. Kueper comes to her doorstep advertising her newly opened necromancy/detective agency that is situated in one of the most haunted houses in the literal ghost town of South Haven, Liz realizes that she needs to return to the world of the dead and figure out the truth behind the mysterious new inhabitant of 13 Birch Lane. There's also the equally strange bandaged man who claims to be an investigator...

    Hi, everyone! I'm Mage, the creator of this club and the writer behind Schadel. I currently don't have any chapters of the first book in the Schadel's Necromancy Agency series uploaded to the site, but the link in the first post will take you to another club, Story Interviews, where you can ask me questions about it. ^_^ I'll post updates on how the book is coming along - plus the links to the actual chapters when I post them in the future - on this club's wall.

    Well, I guess that's all I wanted to say! ^_^ Stay tuned for some future updates!
