Overview
So, the whole idea is about a fictional cooking show. Sounds random, I know, but here's the twist: the cooking show isn't about baking food. It's about baking characters, worlds, and items alike. the show, named Crazy Bin for now - which is perfect because "bin" is also a synonym for chest, like treasure chests, AND TREASURE CHESTS ARE SOMETIMES OYSTER SHELLS, OH LOOK, WE'RE BACK TO SHELLS - would be organized in 4 main parts.
-The first one would be an introduction of "today's episode" by the show's host, AKA the Gear Chief. He'd explain what the client's request would be, and where he could get the ingredients he thinks he'd need to make said request. More on that later.
-The second part would be him sending one assistant, AKA a Toymancer, (so literally a magician that summons fancy toy soldiers) to explore the area needed to be, well, explored, while spreading his or her creations across said area to gather the materials.
While this happens, the focus would switch back to the host, who would explain what the materials are, where they come from and how they're relevent to what must be created.
Example:
Spoiler
Say the request is a hedgehog character, right? The Gear Chief would first send a note for the Toymancer to go to Mobius, AKA Sonic the hedgehog's world, because I mean where else can you find quantity of hedgehog-like fantasy features and abilities to get inspired, right? So, while Toymancer goes there, Gear Chief would explain what Mobius is, what kind of stuff there is to expect there, and why it's relevant to the hedgehog character cooking request.
-The third part would be the Toymancer coming back with the ingredients, and the Gear Chief usin' them to cook the creation, show it off, then give it to a Shell Herald - Yeees, I know, my obsession with shells is blatantly showing, I'm sorry XD - who'd transport the "package" to a Concept Realm, AKA where an actual short story based on what's been cooked will happen.
-And then the 4th part would be the actual short story with the character, world or item created involved in it, or the story revolving around it.
Idea
I do realize I could just... Come up with my ideas in the shadows the way I usually do and then just spend my time writing the short stories, but doing this instead would be useful for a couple of reasons.
-First of all, Shell Master Explorers is originally a group about me. Even though I... don't really like that and changed the name, lol, I figured showing off my thought process in a written fashion might just be inspiring to anyone that reads it, and if not, at least fun to read. Hopefully.
-Then, it would actually help me, too, since I'd get a clearer direction to follow for a certain period of time, and I'd stay focused on it longer. 'Cause yeah, my imagination is all over the place, so... Focusing's fun.
-And then the entire thing can actually be interactive with whoever's reading, because the client requests can come from other people than just me or members of this group. As in, you could literally just PM me a doodle, an elaborate drawing, a poem, story, flash game, heck, even a single WORD, I could literally make a Crazy Bin episode out of anything. After all, part of the reason why I entered LMS was to check just how far I could go for a story, and how much, even when pushed to my limits, I could still come up with something.
Which I apparently did just fine, since I kinda won. Yay! Crazy Bin's in good hands as long as I start it and keep it going REGULARLY. That's still gonna be the hardest part, LMS or not, but Crazy Bin being interactive is actually the main goal here. Hopefully, that can happen just fine and spread nicely.
Gear Trinity
(named like that only because the how's host is called a Gear Chief mind you)
So far, I only plan to make that the three main "classes" of Project: Crazy Bin. These would be Toymancer, Gear Chief, and Shell Herald.
-First one's ability is to travel in random realms and create toy soldiers to assist them in various tasks;
-Second would be using kitchen-inspired tools to create realms, new items or even new beings (think robot golems lookin' for completion after being created);
-And third one's ability is to summon shell-like objects of all shapes and sizes to use as either shields, containers or even weapons. If an SB is ever made out of that, expect variations of thewe abilities to be made/used for peeps.
Anyways! That's all for now. I've already doodled no less than 3 example client orders, and will keep creating more until I'm finally stabilized and actually able to have other people participate as clients of the project if so they wish.
Now then! Hope this Newsletter was enjoyable for y'all. Cheers!
