(Parshen being the japanese name of Cloyster, I felt like usin' it to give an original name to that series of newsletter. I'll make a proper cover page title for it eventuall)
I was planning to do this quite some time ago, but eh, better late than never.
Hello there, my people! Since this is a group about... Well... Me... I figured I'd inform y'all from time to time of what the heck is going on with my current life projects, activities and, y'know, my game design studies.
Among those projects lies some stuff related to YWS, so yay, awesome, I'm not even out of the subject for both the groupd and the site
♦Video Games.
-In the gaming department, I'm using the Halloween period as an excuse to play A Witch's Tale

-Aside that, I've also re-discovered my passion for Mario Tennis Power Tour (by the creators of Golden Sun, mind you, and filled with a few references of THAT awesomness of an RPG series) and enjoyed it so much - in Champion Difficulty, that is, AKA highest difficulty in the game - that I spent my night completing its final stage, from midnight to 8 in the morning. I rarely do this - and I mean RARELY - but it had to be done. Here, have some gameplay of me VS a very, VERY smart computer player: https://vimeo.com/188738570
The full match took about 32 minutes because of the tiebreakers, and me making mistakes that Tori knew how to use against me.
-Then I've also been playing an MMO that's also a Beat Them Up game called Rumble Fighter Unleashed, which has the fun lil' gimmick of having your character getting better by buying scrolls, which have techniques based on actual martial arts.

Fun stuff.
Aside that, I've also bought Disgaea and HyperDimension Neptunia, which I'll get into in another issue.
♦Drawing.
-In the drawing side of my life, I'm currently drawing for two things: the first thing being a Sonic the Hedgehog related mature manga named Tides of Ares - so I'm drawing a character that might potentially become a member of the story - and a Rumble Fighters costume contest, which also allows participants to design their own battle Scrolls and Exocores (AKA a weapon).
-Putting that aside, to keep on practicing, I've been trying to draw a bunch of Wigglers (y'know, these giant caterpillars from the Mario games that get angry if you jump on their heads?) like creatures and modify their body shapes. I've drawn one so far, with two alterations called the Nitro Trigger and the Oxide Trigger. More on that on another issue.
♦Writing.
-I'm still writing for Muster Heroes in the shadows, 'cause after all I'm still in the Last Man Standing challenge! Then I'm trying to catch up with my SB posts, but well... Game Design's in the way.
-Aside that, I'm also writing a Klonoa fanfiction on another side, though it's been on hold ever since that cyst thing destroyed me.
(I know it may sound like I'm not writing a lot compared to everything else, but... Klonoa, Muster Heroes and SBs DO take a lot of time)
♦Animation
-I seem to be in a racing mindset here, 'cause I'm switching between Turbo: FAST And Initial D, the first being a cartoon about racing snails (like, some of them could easily compete with Sonic the Hedgehog, and the animation/voice acting is top-notch), and the second being an Anime about street racing. It's quite the classic, too, and I've been wanting to be done with it for a while now. Plus... Gosh... The OST is just amazing. Have a sneak peak:

Keep in mind: this is the type of soundtrack you here while cars are blazing though tight corners and drifting like crazy. It's... It's amazing.
♦Reading.
-Much like with Rumble Fighters, in the manga department I seem to be all about Martial arts. I'm currently reading History's Greatest Disciple: Kenichi (which is about a weak dude trying to find his own martial arts style, first 'cause he's sick of being bullied, and later for reasons that I can't even grasp yet), though I plan to stop for a while and get back to Air Gear. More on that one later.
-And then I'm reading the Archie Sonic The Hedgehog comics. Oh GOSH, this one's amazing. Like... really. I mean why am I even bothering, just enjoy these few pages:

And by the way, don't think this is forgotten. Later on, Sonic is seen going to Tommy's grave to remind the reader that yes, it happened, and to remind himself what he's fighting for and why he can't give up.
Spoiler

For the record, Eggman's air fleet just wiped out the capital of the resistance group Sonic had been building along with them for years in a few minutes, captured basically EVERYONE to kill them later by using their bodies as fuel for his future upgraded army, and went on the ground himself just to break Sonic physically and mentally.
...Yeah, that's the same goofy guy you defeat in the games. I mean he can still be goofy at times here, but this is legit indimidating.
I mean, it's well-written, the graphic style is pretty enjoyable, and the overall experience is pretty darn charming. You could slap generic human beings instead of anthropomorphic animals and disguise it as a huge, Star Wars-esque adventure. It would work.
Anyway! That's all for now. I realize that this is taking long enough, so I'll divide my newsletters into two types: the activities and the personal projects. So next time, I'll try to write the first issue of my current personal projects.
But for now, I've got a heavy shell on my back*, so I'll see myself out.
Catch y'all on the flipside!
