  1. "I know it’s not the best idea to put your happiness in the hands of another person, but he makes me happy and I’m not going to sacrifice that."
  2. She hadn’t asked to be a hero. She hadn’t asked to be special. The dirt underneath her fingertips and the way she clung to her own comfort should have told the universe that fact. Fate should have known that. When they started her story, she was just another speck in the entire cosmos and she would have been fine with another copy/paste of a story. She hadn’t asked for an epic saga. Rease just wanted to be free.
  3. "I'm the map, I'm the map," a kid yelled, peeping his head between mine and Abby's.
  4. Ignore the random formatting - my inner-editor is still locked in a cage somewhere. But then, yours is too, so what am I worried about?
    Spoiler
I kept reading. “Medousa was one of three daughters born to Phorkys and Keto, who were the children of Gaea and Oceanus.”
“Those names have no meaning to me.” Levi stated.
“Medousa was a grandchild of the Earth and Ocean.”
    Levi snorted. “That’s weird.”
“Well according to this, it gets weirder.” Elizabeth said. “Medousa was the only mortal of the three sisters, and devoted her life to celibacy. But apparently she fell in love with Poseidon and married him in spite of her vows?”
“Oh, let me guess, she was punished by fire from heaven.”
“No,” I said, squinting at the screen as if it should have been able to prevent the black magic of mythology. “That might have been merciful. She was once a golden-haired beauty with fair skin, but because she married after her vow, the goddess punished her by turning her skin green and her charming hair into a mess of snakes.”
“Mm.” Elizabeth said, making a face.
“I wonder if she had to feed them mice.” Levi mused. “I mean, live snakes? Surely they had to eat!”
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. “It’s mythology, dork.”
    “And it’s a valid question!”
“Shut up already! Her grandparents were the Earth and the Ocean!” Elizabeth said. “There are no valid questions that can be applied to fairy tales!”
“Except,” I said slowly, the two of them hushing just long enough to hear me out. “Except, I think that we’re going to live see this fairy tale come true.”
  5. I'm going to put several here, since I wasn't able to post during Thanksgiving break... xD

[quot] It wasn't beautiful. It was far more than that - it was outstanding, marvelous, heart-warming, heart- stopping . It was fortissimo . [/quote]

The world was a kaleidoscope of colors - but it didn't matter. I couldn't focus in long enough to enjoy it.

"Alex," he was near hyperventilating now, "I'm-", he hesitated, but only for a second. "I'm scared ."

The world exploded into a million of tiny pieces.

I was flummoxed by fractious Franny's decision to abrogate analgesics for the moribund victims of the recent conflagration. Of course, to display histrionics was discretionary, but I did so anyways, implicating a friend in my drama to make the effect cumulative. I think a misanthrope would have a prosaic appellation, perhaps one related to autonomy and the rejection of anthropocentrism. I think they wouldn't think much of the prominence of watching the coagulation of tea to prognosticate future malevolent events, not even if those events were related to jurisprudence.
