So I've been reading this book lately called "People To Be Loved". It's about homosexuality from a Christian stand point, and it's an amazing read! I would highly suggest it to any who is curious or struggling. Anyways, the one question it has not answered for me, and doesn't seem to be answering anytime soon, is if being gender queer (transgender, non-binary, gender fluid, etc) is a sin. Has anyone on here looked into this? If so, I would love to hear what you have discovered, as I've recently started coming out as gender fluid. Thanks!

I have no idea how to answer this without writing a long essay (as this is a subject I've thought a lot about and couldn't possibly do it justice otherwise), but my honest recommendation would be to pray and ask God about it. My general rule of thumb is that *being* something isn't a sin because you can't control how you're born. So something like having gender dysphoria definitely isn't a sin because you can't control that any more than you can choose not to have depression or not to be attracted to whatever gender(s) you're attracted to. It's your actions, what you do with who you are, that matter. But really read the Bible even though it may not have anything directly on the topic, and most importantly pray and ask God. That's my best recommendation if you're looking for answers. Just have a long chat with God. :D

Thank you, also, thanks for not judging. I really love this group. Nobody judges.

    I agree with Mea!

I'd say I disagree with Mea in some ways because the Bible does state that homosexuality is a sin, however, everyone sins daily so does that mean God loves homos any less? No of course not! God sent His son to die for ALL our sins and that includes homosexuality. The reason it's a sin (not only because the Bible says) is because it's more harmful than not. God created man to be with a woman and vice versa and if God created it that way than I see that as the best way we can live our lives. The ONLY reason God would tell us to do something is out of love. And statistically speaking homosexuality spread AIDS and other STDS. Also, homosexuality isn't about love it's about sex. I'm a female and I love my friend Abi but that doesn't mean I'm a homosexual. I just feel like today's society tries to demonize anyone who think homosexuality is a bad thing. It is! And sugar coating it isn't helping. Call sin what it is because the Bible says, I believe in the book of 1 John, that we should call sin what it is and that it's more harmful to not do so. So even though homosexuality is a sin it doesn't mean God doesn't love you, but homosexuality is a life choice no one is born that way.

Bible does state that homosexuality is a sin

To clarify a little bit as to what I mean about it not being a sin because that's the way you're born, in my mind simply having those feelings of same-sex attraction (as long as they aren't so strong as to be lust, which is a different sin entirely) isn't a sin, because it's nearly impossible to control who you find attractive and it's pretty much something you're born with. The sin is acting upon those feelings of attraction, hence what I said about your actions being what matter.
