Now that we're better acquainted, it's time to dig in to what Camp YWS is really about: the cabin project. For the rest of the week, each cabin will work to think up and plan a project to unveil to YWS over the weekend.
The project can be anything you guys want to do! Maybe we all agree to clear out the green room, or maybe we collaborate to plan and host a workshop to share our writing knowledge with the rest of YWS. Anything you can imagine and plan in the next few days!
To get started, let's brainstorm! In the comments below, share your ideas for what the cabin project could be. Is there a part of the site you think needs some extra love? Do you have a skill or knowledge you think would be fun to share with others? Let us know!
We'll also need to pick a day (and, depending on the project, time) to unveil the project. It should either be this coming Saturday or Sunday, and should be a time that the most people are able to attend.

I like the idea of a workshop. Topics?
-
Ooh, I've been wanting to be part of a workshop! Possibly one related to reviewing or novel-writing? I have absolutely no ideas at the moment, but I do think we could start some kind of "Quality over quantity reviewing" thingamajig or something.
-
I like the idea of a workshop on reviewing. Too many times have I gotten a very long review with almost no help. I'm sure that was not the reviewers intention, they just weren't sure how to go about writing the review. So I vote for a review workshop
-
What exactly is a workshop?
-
A workshop is when many people get online at the same time and some people put up information for others to read, and games to play together.
-
That's sounds cool, I don't know much about writing so I wouldn't be the one to share anything with the public. How about we clear out the green-room?
-
This may sound like a dumn idea but how about each one of us make something inspirational for the public on YWS? Like maybe writing a poem or short story commemorating something we strongly believe in
Example: Human rights,Animal Abuse, Child Abuse, Gay Rights, Sexual discrimination,Bullying, ect.
Write about one or more, something that would move the readers. Maybe they've experienced something in one of those categories. They've been bullied or discriminated by society?
I don't know if everyone will agree with this but I wanted to put it out there. -
What can we lead YWS into doing as a group?
Remember, we only have two more days to plan this, including any prep work we need to do before we reveal our event to YWS.
What if we took SDreams' idea and worked it into a book? Like maybe we collect all the stories we write about different topics that matter most to us and make it a book that the rest of YWS can add to?
We could call for submissions to the book on the day for the group project, and then make an anthology of YWS opinions?
[Or maybe just make it broader than that and just make it a YWS anthology?]
We need your opinions! Please, if you're reading this, just type something in the reply box and submit it XD. It can be as little as 'sure' to as long as an essay about what to do for another idea. -
I really like that idea, Aley. But I kinda want to do something to help the site too....
-
I like the anthology idea too because I feel like it allows each member of the cabin to express themselves since we're all a little different as far as strengths and weaknesses go creativity wise. I think it would be especially fun if we could make this a ~*thing*~ where other YWSers could add works that are related to things they feel strongly about. We could even create some kind of hashtag or something to popularize the idea. I'm trying to think of something catchy. All that's coming to mind is #opinionscounttoo , and that's kinda lame xP

Honestly, I really like that whole idea. I find it fantastic.
As for helping the site, like FatCow said, the only reason why I'm not for that is how is it going to all come together. For example, the Review Workshop. Okay, we all want to make a BIG difference. Huge, gigantic one! But when it does come together in the end, it probably won't work that well. Some will be controlling more than others, and if you deny that this will happen, it most likely will happen. I feel like this happens 95% of the time. ("Let's be the 5%").
But, yeah. I really like that whole story idea

The anthology idea is interesting (anthologies are AWESOME!!!), and Createspace would make getting physical copies pretty easy...
I'm all in for that.

Hm, I see the first idea didn't get through to everyone so I'll suggest another:
There are a whole lot of new people who've joined YWS, or people who are having problems with they're writing (Including myself). I'm not the one to be helping people since I'm less experienced than most here but maybe we could compose something and put it together into one piece of work.
We could list stuff like, grammar tips, punctual, writing structure, writing motivation, ect.
Us more experienced and fluent writers can help the others to become to same and help them to whatever goals they wish to achieve. Also when doing this everyone can work on it so not only the public but the entire cabin can learn from each other.
I'm all up for the clearing out the green-room idea but I really am horrible at doing reviews. I don't always get all the grammar or punctual mistakes or I come down too hard on the flaws and I sound harsh. Something like this would've come in handy not too long ago.
This involved some of the first idea but it is also able to make an impact on YWS, no?
If any of this made sense, I'm sure some of it didn't. -
Maybe we could incorporate the Bio Poems too.
I thought about submitting mine as a literary work, but we could possibly add that to the book as well.
