We'd like to announce some changes that we would like to make to the way in which the Find a Writing Partner club is organised. After some discussion, we have come to conclusion that the current system needs improving, so we'd like to announce how the club will now be working.
The Wall
This is the place for announcements from the club admins - stay tuned - and also for general chitchat. We'd prefer it if you didn't request writing partners here, instead, you should go...
The Forums
This is where the the actions's at. It's also where we'd like to make a few changes, to make the process of paring you up with a writing partner smoother for everyone involved.
Hopefully, all of you have introduced yourselves in the Introductions thread. If not, there's still time! This aspect of the club will remain unchanged, as will the Suggestion Box and the Questions and Queries thread.
Currently, we have a 'Post Your Ideas' thread. We have reached the conclusion that, instead of posting here, we'd like any of the members who are looking for a writing partner to create their own thread within the club's forums. For those unsure how to do that, you'll need to go into the club's forums, and click on the 'Create Topic' link on the left hand side of the page. Simply tell us about the project you would like a partner for, and don't be afraid to give us some details. Some questions to use as a starting point are in the old 'Share Your Ideas' thread.
By having individual threads rather than a single place where everybody shares what they want to write about, getting into contact with a prospective writing partner will hopefully be an easier process for all involved. And if you see a thread that looks interesting, be sure to comment! Discuss the idea, ask questions, get to know the writer better.
You can also create a thread if you're looking for a partner in a more generalised sense, as a brainstorming buddy, or someone to pester you out of procrastination.
Hopefully this system will help make the club easier to navigate, and allow some fantastic partnerships to flourish.
