General Rules
All of your work must be new. You can plot, doodle and daydream till your heart is content, but each week you must submit a piece that has been written or composed in that same week. If you don't submit, you're knocked out of the competition, but can continue to play as a Rogue.
Once you've submitted your work, post a link to it in the weekly submission thread, with your word/line count by Midnight (your time) on Sunday.
Warriors: To stay in the competition you have to submit one piece of work per week of 1000 words or more. You can go back and edit your work as much as you like, as long as it still meets the 1000 word requirement. Warriors may submit: novels, novellas, short stories.
Bards: You guys have to submit fourteen lines or more, in the form of a single or multiple pieces. You may go back and edit your work as you wish, but leave an enspoilered version of the original in the same thread. Bards may submit: poems, lyrics, scripts.
Rogues: Choose your targets and stick with them. You can submit any type of work you want, as long as it is of the same project. This includes projects you started previously, rewrites, editing per week, or interdiciplinary projects.

Where do I post my stuff?
There are a few options to choose when deciding where to post, but try to keep it all in the same place so it's easier to read.
1) Via the Publishing Centre, if you want it to be reviewed.
2) Create your own thread in the LMS Club and post there.
3) Create a thread in the Writers Corner.
Remember to post the link in the submissions thread.
I'm late! Can I still join?
To compete as a Warrior or Bard you have to join before or during the first week. Any time after that you can compete as a Rogue.
Can I plan?
You can plan ahead and develop your plot as much as you like.
What's all the other stuff in this forum?
The club is full of debris from Rounds I and II. To avoid confusion, try not to bump any of the old threads.
But I really like my current project.
You're more than welcome to join and play as a Rogue if you want to use an old project. You'll still get tagged weekly and be cheered on, no matter how far through you are already.
My parents are taking me on holiday!
Real Life obligations happen to the best of us. If you know you're going to be without internet access then give at least two weeks notice, and depending on the circumstances you may be able to submit your chapter early.
Can I change my MC's names?
Sure! As long as you're still working on the same novel it's fine. Mention it in your post so your readers (or myself) don't get confused.
Does drawing count as writing ahead?
Any artwork you do won't affect the contest, so you can draw up any character sketches you want before the start date.
What if I change my mind about something that happened?
If you feel you've changed your mind and want to edit something that happened previously, you're free to do so as you wish, but you must still post a new chapter from the point your at in the story. If you do, it might be helpful to others if you mention what changes have happened so it's easier to keep on track.
Can I recycle ideas?
PM me on this one. Generally, you're welcome to base your novel in a world you created previously, re-use cameo characters, names, places, e.c.t.

Can one be a warrior and a bard since I don't believe that was ever stated yet?

So if you're a warrior, and you do a novel, it has to be the same novel, right? But what if you're doing short stories? Does it always have to be short stories, or can you write a novel as well as shorts?

Good question. I'd say... you can do both if you like, but only join as one.

For switching from short stories to novels you have to write a short story per week, preferably a series or linking theme/genre. Switching from novel to shorts or vice versa would count as working on different projects. -

Okay, that sounds good. The only thing is- having themed short stories for a whole year let alone more sounds dreadful- but it might also be fun. XP

I would be thoroughly impressed with anyone who could last a year writing short stories, but LMSers never fail to amaze me and outshine my expectations. I might make an alteration later in the year, the same way that I usually allow for sequels after a long period of time, but we'll see how things pan out. -

can I join as a warrior and continue writing a story that I've already written 5 chapters of if I only submit new content?

I'm afraid not. Since warriors have to start from the beginning you'd have to enter as a Rogue. -

I have this project I started for my New Years Resolution where I write a short story each week. Because the stories so far have been unrelated (they may connect later on) could I enter each of those short stories a week?

What happens if the story ends while the competition is still running? Is one allowed to continue on with a new story or a sequel? (Like, if the plot just can't go anymore and needs to end...)
