For all of my fellow romance-haters, there's a book series that you might like. It's called the Furnace series by Alexander Gordon Smith and the first book is called Lockdown. It's about a kid who gets falsely accused of murder and is sent to a state penitentiary because of it. And the penitentiary is even worse than it seems. Best of all, no romance until the 4th book, which doesn't even involve the main character at all. In fact, there's not even a single girl in the book until the fourth book.
