Top Ten Movies of All Time

8 posts in this topic.

  1. What are your top ten movies of all time?

As of right now, mine are:

    1. The Graduate

    2. Gone With the Wind

    3. The Aviator

    4. The Village

    5. Darjeeling Limited

    6. Amadeus

    7. Goodfellas

    8. Lost in Translation

    9. The Descendants

    10. Kill Bill
  2. I have a bit of trouble ranking stuff, so (not counting no. 1) this list is just in no particular order

1: Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World. Less for the movie itself (as I haven't seen it in years), and more for the impact it has had on me.

    2: Prisoners

3: District 9. This is and always will be one of my favorite Sci-fi movies. Suck it Nolan.

4: Harold & Maude. Cat Stevens soundtrack + Black Comedy = greatness.

    5: Being John Malkovich.

6: The Orphanage. It is one of the only movies I've ever seen that has moved me to tears.

7: The Double. It's like somebody went inside my head and made a movie just for me (despite it being based on an old Dostoevsky novel).

    8: It's Such a Beautiful Day.

    9: The Grand Budapest Hotel.

10: O Brother Where Art Thou?. I love Folk music, I love Great Depression-era stories, and this was a happy blend between the two.
  3. 10: Heathers

    9. Raising Arizona

    8. Fargo

    7. Pulp Fiction

    6. Doctor Strangelove

    5. Birdman

    4. A Clockwork Orange

    3. Breaking Away

    2. Love Is Strange

    1. Her
  4. In no particular order (except for Into the Wild, which is my all time favorite movie)

    Cinderella (1950)
    East of Eden (1953)
    Peter Pan (1953)
    To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
    Goldfinger (1963)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
    Star Wars OT (1977-1983)
    Misery (1990)
    Into the Wild (2007)
    The Artist (2011)
  5. It is really hard to rank them, but some of the classics which blew my mind:

    Dr Strange Love
    Clockwork Orange
    One Flew Over Cuckoo Nest
    Shawshank Redemption

And a bunch of Nolan movies which I really loved.

    Memento
    Prestige
    Inception
    The Dark Knight
  6. Mine would change a bit now because I want to add Whiplash, Rushmore, and Midnight in Paris as well

    Maybe even Apocalypse Now? Idk
  7. I guess I'll add my current top ten in no particular order really (Some spots have two movies since I always remember them together)

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Even though this is my favorite I think)

    Fight Club

    Juno

    Scott Pilgrim vs the World

    The Shawshank Redemption/The Green Mile

    Coraline/The Nightmare Before Christmas

    The Orphanage

    Monty Python's Life of Brian

    It's Such a Beautiful Day

(I noticed how my list has like 3 or 4 of Gringo's aswell but only because I've been recommended movies from them, haha.)

I'm still searching and adding to my favorite movies everyday but I just thought I'd do this for a little fun.

Oh no, I’m sorry, you’re under the impression that here on YWS we *help* writers instead of just feeding their gremlin tendencies.
